I don't know if anyone can help.

My husband made a claim via Resolver against TSB for PPI on a loan from the mid-1980's. We uploaded a copy of the loan agreement which clearly shows that PPI was included.

We then received a phone call from them stating that they had no records of any accounts.

Yesterday we had a letter asking my husband to fill out a form (which is identical to the Resolver online one) and to provide "any kind of documentation to evidence your account". Well, we did all of this as we uploaded a copy of the loan agreement.

Why have they asked for the information again? It's all the same as we put in the Resolver tool so we cannot understand why they want us to spend hours writing all of this information down again.

Or is this a ploy they use to try to put people off?

Another question as well, being as I'm here: we've also found evidence of sorts of another loan from the mid-1980's that would have had PPI on. All we have is an account number on a letter from TSB stating that the loan had been paid off and a solicitor's letter stating what the repayments were. We cannot find the loan agreement paperwork. Is it still worth trying to reclaim the PPI on this as well?

Many thanks for any help.

TSB carries no liability for historic business. Lloyds retained the liability for old TSB stuff. The new TSB is effectively a brand new bank.

No. It appears that some of the info doesnt seem to make its way across when using resolver. It varies with the institution. If you have a printout of any data supplied with resolver, then give them that printout. Data capture doesnt matter on layout. Its the info that matters.

Without a copy of the agreement, its unlikely Lloyds will have a copy after all this time. Stranger things have happened but the odds have to be extremely low.

I'm afraid that is not solid evidence that you had and paid PPI. If all you have is a copy of the Agreement, it's possible you cancelled the PPI (or even the loan itself ) during the "cooling off" period.

The mid 1980's is now three decades ago, did you really expect them to still have easily accessible records of your finances from so long ago? You should also have addressed your complaint to Lloyds, not TSB.

You have involved an unnecessary third party in your complaint (Resolver), you could have avoided this by complaining directly. Instead of "uploading" evidence, send them a paper copy by mail. Hopefully the Bank will be able to find your old loan from the information on the Agreement that you are about to re-send.
we've also found evidence of sorts of another loan from the mid-1980's that would have had PPI on.
Can you show any evidence of PPI on this loan? How do you know there was PPI thirty years on?

What complaint reasons do you have?

I'm afraid you'll struggle even more without any relevant documentation at all.
