PPI help with First Plus

I was hoping for some help, please.
I remember having a secured loan with a company called First plus in 2004/5. I remember being told I had to take the PPI to have the loan. I didn't want the PPI as I was working as a paramedic at the time (and still do).
The problem is I can't find any paperwork. I have read that I can do something called a Subject Access Request to get more info but who do I send this to. Does anyone know the address? I have typed it ready to go.
Thanks in advance.

Send it to whoever sold you the PPI.
Remember that if it was compulsory, then it wasn't mis sold.0 -
Which address do I send a Subject Access Request for First Plus?0

If you know you had PPI, then you do not need to do a DSARI am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

But I do not have the account number. Will the dsar give me this information?0

Elderbridge have taken over the loan book from FP.
I would suggest that you call them first, give them as much info as you can to help them find the loan.
They may not find your account, or you may not believe them, if you get no joy from that, send a DSAR, don't forget to enclose a cheque for £10 and they have 40 days to respond.
Elderbridge Ltd. PO BOX 908 Newport, NP20 9NX
Do not send registered post, first class will do and get a proof of posting
Telephone 08000520520
They may pass you to FP, FP will then send it back to Elderbridge, get ready for a delay.
If you call them and they find the loan, your reasons for mis sell are.
You were not told the PPI would only cover you for the first five years and only the first named borrower (if a joint loan) had full cover with this insurance for 5 years, the second named, only had life cover for the 5 years, yet you would repay this PPI, with interest over the remaining term with no cover.
You were told you would get cash back of the total PPI after 5 years, but not the interest you paid on that for for the 5 years, you were not told the whole PPI with interest is still on the loan to term end.
You were not given all information relevant to this PPI to make a informed decision, had you been told how this PPI worked, you would not have taken it.0 -
Is this loan paid off and did you get the cashback?.0

Thank you for your responses. Sounds like a bumpy ride.
The loan was repaid and I cannot seem to recall any cashback. I have never heard of this Elderbridge company.0 -
I have never heard of this Elderbridge company.
Without an account number and relevant documentation you are going to struggle progressing any complaint. Can you not find any statements etc showing payments to this loan?
As user "amersall" says above, give Elderbridge a call in the first instance and you can the decide where to proceed from there...0 -
So, I called Elderbridge and finally spoke to someone. They cannot trace me whatsoever. Was advised to write to Barclays!0

Send a DSAR to Elderbridge, ask for ALL info they hold on you, don't forget the cheque for £10 and give them 40 days to respond.
See what they come back with.0
