I was told by Sky that they cannot offer more than a 10% TV discount on Sky Q to existing customers upgrading from a Sky+HD box. Is that true?

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/72844562#Comment_72844562 post #1097 and on show that they're telling porkies although they are already Q customers so not entirely apples to apples.0 -
The way I got it cheaper was to cancel my Sky+ HD, then negotiated a 60% discount to stay (with the £50 credit too).
Once confirmed and showing on my sky, I then upgraded to Sky Q, yes, I had to pay the £60 installation (went for the 2TB ultra HD box) and the £12 for multiroom but I kept my offers, so, for the full sports / movies / box set package with HD and multiroom, the cost dropped from £92 to £47.60 for 12 months.
This is unfortunately on an 18 month contract, so, the price will increase for 6 months at the end but, it averages out at £62.40/month over the 18 months, still almost 33% less than I was paying for the Sky+ HD package.
This deal won't be for everyone, but, I am happy with it, especially as it beats any offer they gave me on sky chat for Sky Q, 20% was the max discount they would give on chat.0
