Hi Rachel24, came to subscribe to your diary and then realised I have no idea how to do that! Whoops.
Well done you on the second job. I've been debating doing that also, as Autumn and Winter are very slow seasons for me in my full time job, which should leave me a little extra energy. I was thinking evening care work one evening a week. How have you found doing extra hours?
Well done on jumping back on the wagon. Lets keep the momentum up together!! x19/12/14: Spent 10 years of savings!!

Hi silver lining, sorry I'm so rubbish at updating this! I read everyone else's then don't bother updating my own.
Honestly I'm not going to lie I hate doing my second job. Not that I hate the actual job but I am so tired and it's the last thing I can bare thinking of doing. I work Monday to Friday plus most Saturday mornings then do my second job Saturday afternoon/night.
I don't know how long I'll manage but I'm definitely keeping it up till the end of the year. I want to get my debts down as low as possible. It's my own fault for getting myself in this mess. If you have more spare time and you can then def get a second job to clear it, it really helps. I get a free gym membership with my job which is an extra bonus.0 -
Thanks sashybo :-) I've changed all my payments to the start of the month for August so looking forward to it being easier now.0

Hi Ellie :-)
Do you have a diary I can subscribe to too? For survey site check out martins post about different surveys you can do to earn money
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/make-money-surveys/ I hope this link works it should take you to it.
I personally only use prolific academic for surveys but only because I've tried others and with working 2 jobs it's just finding the time.
I only downloaded shoppix app and receipt hog app, they are slow in making money think I've only made like 15 pound but all you literally do is upload your receipts. Takes 2 seconds.
Happy Monday - although maybe not happy I can't be bothered today I'm so tired. I'm going to do a weekly list for myself of personal stuff I need to do to encourage me.
1. Phone HSBC and see if I can change my repayment date for CC as currently on 18th and I get paid on the 1st
2. Phone barclaycard and do the same as it's on the 26th!
3. Buy niece present from Argos - I have a £10 voucher
4. Buy card for niece
5. Buy baby shower gift for friend for Sunday
I totally forgot about baby shower :-( it's expenses like this I forget about
Done all of the above :j
My barclaycard and Hsbc payments will be due on the 2nd so at least I know where I stand with payments rather than waiting till near the end of the month.
I bought 2 tops from new look, didn't need them so returned. Also waiting on a return from groupon for an iron that was rubbish. Bought insect repellent for when we went on holiday and never used so I must return that for a credit note.
So I get paid tomorrow :T
I've decided I'm taking out £10 a week for general spends. Anything I don't spend I'll carry on to the following week. I just feel because I never take out any cash and keep using my cards I'm not keeping a proper eye on my spending.
This month we're away up north with the family, going to take £100 out from our joint account for spends. Hopefully won't use it all.
Then I have one day/night out with the girls near the end of the month. Will allocate £50 to this.
I'm desperate to clear my loan. Its doesn't clear until June 2021. It did start out at £175 a month and have managed to reduce payments to £146 with overpaying but it's just such a large amount. Once I can clear this I can then concentrate on my credit cards and get them cleared.
If anyone has read all of this then well done!!0 -
And I really need to get to grips and do surveys. I just feel I never have time and when I'm home I'm tired.0

Not posted on my diary in so long.
Well I ended up being worse and increased my overdraft and spent more on my next account and my debt ended up back at 19k. Had my light bulb moment in January this year and my debt currently stands at £15,569. I now have one loan and 2 0% credit cards. My aim is to overpay the loan and pay minimum payments on credit cards until loan is cleared as 0% is for 36 months.
I'm going to try and keep posting on here as I have slipped in doing surveys etc. My aim is to get to 13k by the end of the year fingers crossed.
Well it's safe to save I am rubbish at updating my diary! I think I should just delete it, I love reading everyone else but I never bother with mine. Just looked at my last post from July and my debt now stands at: £14,111. It will be in 13's in the next few days though when my DD's come out. I originally aimed to be in 13's by Christmas but now want to be in the 12's.
I'm glad I have checked actually because I was feeling so demotivated. I'm done with working in my second job it's just so tiring and I'm constantly doing overtime and it's so depressing getting paid all this money and I can't spend it. I know it's all my own fault I just wish I'd realised this. Oh if we could just go back!
Anyway I'll probably update again in another 2 months :rotfl:
Hope everyone is having a lovely Wednesday!0 -
Hey Rachel24
Hope you're doing well... I keep going through periods where I drop of the face of MSE earth for a while/ lose whose diaries I was reading :rotfl: I'm a numpty! Well done on how well you're debt is going!
Good news on chucking the second job.. No point working all the time if it makes you feel rubbish. You'll get your debt cleared with or without a 2nd job and if it makes your day to day better/ easier then why not!Total Debt : ?? / ??0 -
Hi Rachel, hope you're well! I am back posting on this too, think I posted about 4 times all year then disappeared and came back with an extra £10,000 debt!! Sold my house, combined finances with my husband, cleared it off, then we moved house!
Did you get rid of your second job? I don't know how people cope with 2 jobs, I can just about survive with one!! xxStarting debt £18,675.63
Current debt: £5,000 (16/05/18)0
