Oh and the mini payments help me too! I like seeing even numbers so paying the odd £10 even £1 here and there works for me too, and helps me focus...I count down to pay day then once everything has been paid I have no money again lol so the mini payments during the month all add up xStarting debt £18,675.63
Current debt: £5,000 (16/05/18)0 -
I even round down the pennies, if I have something like £10.43 that's 43p in my savings... Main thing about this debt busting journey is stamina, keeping at it when you just can't be bothered to is what beats it.. That's what I keep telling myself anyway!!0

Not posted on my diary in so long.
Well I ended up being worse and increased my overdraft and spent more on my next account and my debt ended up back at 19k. Had my light bulb moment in January this year and my debt currently stands at £15,569. I now have one loan and 2 0% credit cards. My aim is to overpay the loan and pay minimum payments on credit cards until loan is cleared as 0% is for 36 months.
I'm going to try and keep posting on here as I have slipped in doing surveys etc. My aim is to get to 13k by the end of the year fingers crossed.0 -
Can't believe it's coming up to Sunday night already. Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. We were at my friends and had a bbq and drinks but no spends :-)
Hate how fast the weekend goes before work again.
Updated all my questions on PA so ready now for any surveys, I just need to keep on remembering to check. Worked out for next month I need to overpay by £127 after my minimum payments to get under 15k on my debt, actually so excited for this to happen. Feel like 14k's sounds less daunting then 15's for some reason.
I've been doing overtime so should get an extra £160 in my pay so can pay the extra no problem. I just keep waiting for payday but still got 2 weeks to go!0 -
Does you husband know about your debts yet ( sorry if I missed it earlier)No.79 save £12k in 2020. Total end May £11610
Annual target £240000 -
Hi Mnd yeah I told him. I don't think I ever posted that. I felt like I was deceiving him. I told him at the start of the year and He was so good to me about it and helping me sort our finances to clear it. I have got a second job and do overtime whenever I can to try and clear it faster too.0

Hi Rachel!
Just read your diary
Just subscribed!
I am just starting out on my journey and i see you mentioned survey websites and research groups. I was wondering which ones you had success with so i can look into them.
Thanks so much in advance :T0 -
Hi Ellie :-)
Do you have a diary I can subscribe to too? For survey site check out martins post about different surveys you can do to earn money
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/make-money-surveys/ I hope this link works it should take you to it.
I personally only use prolific academic for surveys but only because I've tried others and with working 2 jobs it's just finding the time.
I only downloaded shoppix app and receipt hog app, they are slow in making money think I've only made like 15 pound but all you literally do is upload your receipts. Takes 2 seconds.
Happy Monday - although maybe not happy I can't be bothered today I'm so tired. I'm going to do a weekly list for myself of personal stuff I need to do to encourage me.
1. Phone HSBC and see if I can change my repayment date for CC as currently on 18th and I get paid on the 1st
2. Phone barclaycard and do the same as it's on the 26th!
3. Buy niece present from Argos - I have a £10 voucher
4. Buy card for niece
5. Buy baby shower gift for friend for Sunday
I totally forgot about baby shower :-( it's expenses like this I forget about0 -
Hi Rachel,
Don't know why I haven't posted on your diary before but found you now. :hello:
Good idea on changing your payment dates, we try to spread our bills throughout the month as both get paid 4 weekly, so the date we get paid changes all the time & can make it hard to budget properly.
Well done on your second job, I'm sure that really helps out too. :beer:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,345, Car loan CC 0% BT £4900. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0
