the strange thing is go to their energy4 page ( http://www.britishgas.co.uk/products-and-services/energy/gas/click-energy/rates.html ) and their rates are a link to their energy 3 rate ....

Click2, Click4, Click69, who cares!? This must bring BG's range of baffling & frankly tedious tarrifs to at least 30 by now. Where will it all end?
Is the cheapest price the only thing that matters? British Gas have the worst service rating & the highest level of customer complaints in the industry. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Actually, I wouldn't touch their barge pole with my barge pole. In fact, I wouldn't even touch their barge pole with someone else's barge pole. I could go on...?
Anyway, why not spend a little more elsewhere & get far better service?
Come on, dive in - the water's chilly but refreshing...SKIPS STONES FOR FUDGE0 -
The electric and gas lights up when needed at the agreed price – that’s what I get from BG. What other service do you need !!
Accept the weaknesses of online billing but I find in practice it all sorts itself out given time.

I was on Click 3. I filled out the form & used Quidco to move to Click 4. Got £60 tracked and validated in my Quidco account 7 hours later

I think the biggest change is that click 4 is available to economy 7 customers.
Not been working with credit meters recently so not totally up to date.0 -
It looks cheaper for me.. Grrrrr, its neverending switch game with BG
CE3 (Yorkshire - Electricity) - T1 = 10.390p T2 = 7.816p
CE4 (Yorkshire - Electricity) - T1 = 10.088p T2 = 7.469p
Because my usage is pretty low it works out about £7 a year, although thats not counting the £40 on Quidco, if it tracks. Although I have already had 2 x £20 'Free Cash' deals, one with Click 1 > 2 and one with Click 2 > 3.
Be aware that quite a few of the electricity region prices have actually risen with Click 4.
Yorkshire seems to be the only region that Tier 1 and Tier 2 prices have both dropped, for example Tier 1 on Swelec has gone from 11.398p per unit to a whopping 17.026p!

PS: Always remember to print off a copy of the latest prices so that you can track what the against any new tarrif which comes online to see if its worth switching, I have copies of all 4 click pricing guides atm for Electricity.0 -
Dear Mr xxxxxxx
Thank you for your email regarding the proposed change to your electricity tariff. Please accept my apologies for delay in replying.
I have checked your account reference number and note that you are in the Yorkshire region for your supply. Using this information I compared your current rates against the new Click Energy 4 tariff rates. I have noted the details below :-
Click Energy 2 Tier 1 Tier 2
10.39 pence 7.816 pence
Click Energy 4 Tier 1 Tier 2
10.088 pence 7.494 pence
Prices shown above are in pence per Kilowatt hour, before VAT is applied at 5%.
As you can see from the details above the Click Energy 4 is in fact cheaper than the previous Click Energy 2 tariff. I have therefore allowed your original application to progress unless you would prefer to let us know otherwise.
If I can be of any further help please contact us on 0845 600 5001*.

Ahh £40 in validated in quidco this morning.
superb, quidco actually stresses that these cashback deals are available for exsiting BG customers, so fill your boots and don't feel guilty.

Many thanks for the info tightrs. I now see that CE4 is cheaper than CE2 – it was the VAT that I miscalculated.
What I did also was put my yearly consumption numbers through a compare site and found that CE4 is about £24 per year cheaper than CE2 for me.0 -
Of course if you are an existing BG customer on price protection till 2010 they want to charge you £75 to change tarrifs, so its not really a bargin for some people
