New Click Energy 4 from British Gas?

I'm currently on British Gas Click Energy 3 dual fuel rates - I see that BG launched a new 'Click Energy 4' product on 1st October with new prices, and I want to compare 3 with 4. If the 'new' 4 is cheaper than 'old' 3, I'll switch. But BG make a comparison hard to do as it looks like they only have the 4 rates online:

Does anyone have the Click Energy 3 rates for comparison/or anyone know if this is a price cut or increase?

i am interested in energy 4 too - just been to a few price comparison sites and they all say its £70 PA cheaper than my EDF dual fuel deal (using £40 PM).
You can also get £40 for switching with quidco0 -
I’m still on Click 2.
Just gone into my bills listed online and checked the rates I last paid in August – the rates are less than those quoted for Click 4.
BG purchase blocks of energy in the market placed – when Click 2 became fully allocated then a further block was obtained to become Click 3, and I assume this is what has happened to bring about Click 4. Likely these contracts vary in conditions / price but how it is reflected in the various Click offerings is another matter.
I would check your bill to see what the rates were to see how you stand with Click 4.0 -

i checked my electric prices against click 4, i am on click 2 and found click 4 cheaper in yorkshire so i swapped tarifs via quidco on monday but the £40 has not tracked yet
Wonder if the difference is because I’m on dual fuel rates - you just mention electric ! I'm also Yorkshire.
For electric:
My CE2 rate tier 1 = 10.390. CE4 = 10.592.
And CE2 rate tier 2 = 7.816. CE4= 7.869.

I've very recently been shopping around (to move on from my 'rip-off' price from PG/Staywarm -- £112pcm).
The Click energy 3 rates, for GAS that I noted (last week) from the ukpower.co.uk website were 4.346p/kwh for the first 4572, then 2.21 for the balance.
The newCE4 rates are shown as 4.344, then 2.141; the difference for my projected annual usage (obtained from S'warm as my last 12 months consumption) was £10pa cheaper.
For ELECTRIC the CE3 rates were 11.185 for the first 900 then 8.936 for the balance; the CE4 rates are 17.026 then 7.183.
My result (for a projected consumption of 6284kwh - again figure from S'warm) was a reduction of £39pa.
The above figures are, of course, subject to the discounts offered by BG for ddm payment, of 10.3% for GAS and 4.8% (with a max. of £19pa) for ELEC. then a further £15 for dual fuel supply.
Does this help??
P.S. npower SOL8 figures for me, worked out at £7-£8pa cheaper than BG.
I was seriously going to move to npower after a visit by a cold canvasser from npower (out of the blue) worked out a price for me slightly better than BG -- so with BG's questionable reputation in mind, I signed up.
Silly blighter!! After she had gone, a did my own calculations and discovered that she had worked on ex VAT prices -- deliberately or erroneously, I don't know, but they were quickly kicked into the long grass!
So rightly or wrongly I've signed up with BG . . .
Sorry to waffle on.0 -

Thanks for your applause silverfoxuk, I only hope that I've got my facts dead right!0

Thats an old sales trick...leaving out the VAT. If you look at Ebay you will come across that sort of advertising or products so you get a very happy potential buyer until they get to the bottom of the add and realise it's more expensive than the other correctly advertised products!!!
There has been a few posts of late on here that have had that problem with Npower. Maybe it's a new tactic i.e. reverting to an old tactic!
Doorknockers are a constant problem for things like that. Always best to do the math yourself.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
my figures that ive typed in moneysupermarket have made click energy 3 cheaper than click energy 4 by 11 pounds.
dont understand why. they are both monthly dd and duel fuel but click energy 3 is cheaper. ofcourse it'll work out cheaper with quidco but the running rates cost more0
