No need to be prickly - it was a joke about Judges being uppity! No-one actually says 'was you the driver' and certainly not a posh Judge...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'm not being prickly simply pointing out that if I can be pulled up by grammar police on a forum when looking for help. I don't stand a chance in a court with judges and solicitors. I read the forums like most looking for inspiration and confidence to take on the parking companies. Foolish as it may seem to you but I would rather pay £60 now than £150 plus later after failing to understand somthing, because to myself and I think quite a few others 90% of what I have read makes no sense at all. Guess I should have paid more attention in school.0

Having been a regular contributor and reader of this forum for some years, I do agree that some MSE members would be better off paying the charge as they are clearly incapable of reading or absorbing the necessary information and would, indeed, be a walkover for any opposing brief in court.
The question is - are you one of those who would be better paying? If you think you would fold in court or if you are not prepared to put in a little leg work to see what defence you could use, then you should pay before you clock up any further costs.
But before you do, go back to the site and study the signs. Do they meet the requirements of the BPA/IPC? Could you have entered the car park without seeing the relevant signs and what were you ticketed for?
There is no point in going to court unless you have some proof or evidence to support why you shouldn't pay. There is a library of winning points on this forum so see if any match your own circumstances.
.
Oh - your opportunity to pay the reduced rate is time limited, so in your case, go for it.
c-m - you can't win them all, and some you need to let go if they can't hack it. It's their nose and their face.0 -

Metaphor police here. Why use the rather bold metaphor "Fighting fire with fire" when it appears you won't be doing anything. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
What happened to your POPLA appeal from 2013? Did you win?

And, haven't you already committed to fighting this new one on another thread?

Exactly what I've done and posted Google maps link in this thread imo they do not meet the requirements which is why I'm here looking for advice to see if I have a case. Although it would appear rather than comment on my link with advice about if the signs are poor and I shouldn't pay. It's easier just to poke fun at my lack of English grammar. Believe me I'm not angry or upset you have just brought it home to roost that I'm not intelligent enough to walk the walk when my case gets to the business end, and for that I'm grateful.0 -
This is a hoot. OP, you clearly are able to look after yourself, so why pay scammers. As you say, fight fire with fire, and cost them money. County Court Judges are hardly Establishment figures, often being practicing or retired solicitors. Few are silks.
I understand that CM is or was a schoolteacher/ teaching assistant so correcting peoples' grammar may come naturally to her. old habits die hard. and I am sure that she is suitably penitent.
Now, get of your high horse and give these scamming bar stewards a well deserved kick in the cojones. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Presumably you could put in a DPA (Data Protection Act) violation claim, for them misusing your data. Their defence would be proving that the invoice is valid, and the outcome of that may settle it (nothing stopping them filing a claim even if you beat them, but they'd have a serious uphill battle since it's already proven in court to be crap).0
