Morning everyone,
Another one who was up early but what with walking the girls, reading and having a long, leisurely bath have only just got on. It's overcast and drizzly so can't see us going too far today.
I did get over to the graves yesterday and have to say am pleased with M&D's headstone, I took over some Busy Lizzies & Begonias and did a general tidy up.
We have pork for lunch with new roasties and veg, I made a ginger cake yesterday so OH can have some of that for after with custard, I will have fruit and yogurt.
Have a good day folks and hi to emmwri x0 -
Welcome back Emmwri.Holidays in Cornwall with no money, I remember it well. The kids were little, we had managed to save enough for the holiday....16 nights for the price of 10 but with 4 kids (Youngest hadn't been born then) it was a struggle. Thank goodness for the child benefit book! At least the kids had one holiday a year and we muddled through.
Morning all,
I'm off to see my Grandchildren in a bit. We will be missing Livewires' birthday which will be in the week so need to we need to drop his cards and pressies off to him before we go tomorrow. Hubby has quite taken to his Marvel character balloon. I think it will be second hand by the time Livewire gets it. Must get a cuddle of my new Granddaughter. I've only seen her twice since she's been born.
Youngest is a dirty stopout...pity he didn't turn off his alarms which woke me at 6.
Onwards and forwards

Hi everyone, thanks for the new thread Karcher and welcome to emmwri, I hope that the weather is good for your holiday in Cornwall, another one with happy memories of holidays on a shoestring. Site fees and petrol budgeted for by OH and food and treats by me, golly we lived so simply then, walking the coastal path with our packed lunches, occasional treat of a cuppa and perhaps a cake at beach cafes and the two dogs having a great time too.
I want to do some more work in the garden today, but coffee out with OH and his cycling group first (he pedals there and back and I drive:D)
Supper is scheduled to be belly pork slices and veg etc, must save enough energy and not change my mind later 'cos I feel weary:)
Hugs to all those who are feeling down or poorly, happy holidays to those that are away, and I wish that I could send the good sleep fairy to so many lovely people who are suffering, I hate it when I am in one of those phases and feel for you all:(The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Welcome to emmwri.
We had our usual Sunday Breakfast in bed, got up at the back of 9am. OH is out in the garden, repairing the damage from yesterdays heavy at times rain.
I cooked the gammon yesterday, sliced it this morning, enough for 2 suppers and at least 2 lots of sandwiches, not bad for £2.99. I had some pears which were taking their time ripening, so I cooked them in the combi with sugar, water and a bit of lemon juice. Will put them in the fridge when they are cold and we will have them for dessert tonight.
No real plans for the day, I have finished my library books, so on the borrow books now. OH is hooked on them too. He found a whole series yesterday, so he will download them as he wants to read them.
I did lay out a patchwork bag, but I need to cut more squares not enough variety......it can wait........
The sun keeps peeping through, its quite muggy really, I thought the rain would have cooled the air down a bit.0 -
Morning all
Nice bright day here after torrential rain for most of yesterday, we went out to watch a band on the local playing field last night, where you took your own picnic and booze, unfortunately due to the weather it had to be inside the village hall and was very crowded but it was a very good evening and I have a slight headache this morning
Evie had her jabs yesterday and for the second time she did a poo in the
vetsI think its her way of protesting :rotfl:
I have stripped the beds this morning and got them on a wash will hang them out today and remake later on.
Going to nip to John Lewis today to have a look at cookers and see if they have anything left in the sale.
Have good days all xx0 -

Afternoon all
Welcome emmwri
I was awake just before 6 but stayed in bed and read until 7:30.
Apart from a quick foray to the supermarket for milk, bread and beer (the essentials in life) I've spent the day on crochet.
I've been told about a local job that I'm hoping to get, it's only a few quid a week but it would be a great help.
Yesterday someone gave me a witch tiller pin, there is a pic on FB and I'll post a pic on my blog later.
I saw a kingfisher this morning but didn't manage to take a pic .
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Good afternoon everyone, thanks to Karcher for starting the thread , welcome to emmwri and hugs to anyone that needs one.
My younger son left earlier as he's back to work tomorrow. It's been lovely having both boys home at various points over the last few weeks but much as I'll miss having them about I'm also looking forward to getting back into a bit of a routine.
Just had a nice surprise visit from my friends and there now almost fully grown pup. She's a big pooch but still adorable.
The weather ain't great so feet up and my book I think for the rest of the afternoon.
I hope everyone has a good day x0 -

Bit showery here today. Got up a bit late-10'ish, had breakfast then off to M&S to return a tee shirt. Had got carried away by the jazzy design then realised DD would say " Oh mother!"
We had a cheeky coffee and got one free with our loyalty card and spent a bit of time people watching.
Green lentil lasagne for dinner tonight.
Hope you get the job HH.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
