    Evening

What a beautiful day, makes you feel glad to be alive :). I live in a seriously stunning part of the world and my drive to work, though long (and in the winter scary:eek:) it is quite spectacular. I need to take more notice of what is around me and be more appreciative of it. Sometimes I'm so busy and distracted I forget how lucky I am to have all that I do on my doorstep:o

Today has been a good day despite some sad and challenging times at work, another reminder to count my blessings. We got through everything we needed to which is no mean feat at this time of year and it's all marked and tomorrow is prepped.

In money news I did the food shop for £11.76 :j. However, that still puts me over budget and I'll need to add in a bottle of wine for the weekend :). I also filled the car up with petrol so a bit of a spendy day but all necessary.

    Other mfw successes included;

Os another £14.70 ,from eBay and did a 91p tt

    Spin class done

Lunch was lo and dinner was a freezer dive as everyone was on different schedule so nice and easy :)

All towels washed and line dried

    Courgettes repotted

Dd hovered and mopped the floors:)

    Happy almost Friday :):)

    PP xx

I'm in a similar part of the world, although having only been here for a few weeks I still stand around and marvel on regular occasions thinking 'do I really get to live HERE? Me? Wow!' :o :rotfl: My commute is also beautiful (and long, and a bit scary sometimes :rotfl: ) but again, it's still novel enough for me to relish it - yesterday I was quite glad to be stuck behind a tractor on the way home because it meant I could go at 25mph and take in the scenery :rotfl: :D

    :money:Evening

I am one tired but very content piggy :). We've just returned from a long and very high mountain walk, a bucket list one in fact. It was a truly perfect day, clear blue skies and endless sunshine. The views were spectacular as was our hm picnic lunch above the snowline :D. Really didn't expect to be eating lunch in a t-shirt surrounded by snow!! It was just gorgeous:)

Having a long, hot bubble bath while freezer curry heats up. Looking forward to a glass of wine and a tv/sofa night - bliss :A

No money news other than a nsd but lots and lots of 'deposits' in the memory bank :)

    Happy Saturday to you :):)

    Morning

I've just woken up! Calf muscles are a little stiff but other than that no ill affects from yesterday :). It was the best day I've had in ages, challenging but great fun and it's something I've wanted to do for years.

Today I'm playing it by ear, starting with coffee and a good book. We have everything we need so it should be a nsd. I love weekends like these, simple, relaxed and enjoying the outdoors with friends. I'm again left hoping that this is what early retirement will look like:). It feels like all the planning and thrift is worthwhile which I'm going to enjoy because there are times, as I'm sure you all know, when it all feels like a bit of a slog!

    Happy Sunday to you :)

You have a great balance between thriftiness and slog vs present day enjoyment, and if I'd been that balanced, I probably wouldn't have been ill these last few years. You're doing great!

Thank you Karma, you're so supportive:). I also really value your opinion. You've achieved your ER goal and your advice is always very sensible and grounded. Thank you :A
