    Just a quick one from me tonight as I'm heading off to bed after a lovely evening with lots of laughs with great pals. Feeling blessed :A
    The kids thoroughly enjoyed it too and its always nice to see them laughing:)

    We had curries and accompaniments from stores (just bought 1kg of frozen chicken fillets ) and it was yummy. It was also easy to do in advance so it didn't feel like hard work. I've cleaned the kitchen and emptied the DW and put the lo in the fridge and the freezer as I hate getting up to a messy kitchen. Tomorrow I'll be able to just make coffee and take it back to bed and read my book - bliss:)

    Today's mfw successes were;

    Clipped the dog so ££££ saved and he looks very smart:). Those Aldi dog clippers were a great buy:money:

    Made dinner for 10 pretty much from stores with just £3.50 spent on meat. Puddings and wine were provided :). We've got lots of lovely lo for tomorrow:)

    Went for a run and felt quite lively so did Shred level 3 as well :eek:meant I could really enjoy that sticky toffee pudding though:)

    Did lots of lovely reading :)

    Got a lovely Phase Eight summer dress for £6.50 off ebay which will be good for work and the summer generally. Tried same dress on last year and loved it but didn't buy it as it was way beyond my budget. Glad I waited now :):). It was also an ebay sale that 'benefits a charity' so even better. I could just do with a smartish summer dress for occasions/holidays and I've got my eye on a belter so fingers crossed. It means my personal spends are taking a hit but my summer wardrobe will be sorted for a fraction of what it would cost on the high street so I've decided it's ok:p

    There's no money news as the DD haven't gone out and the mortgage totals aren't updated so I'll have to wait in suspense until Tuesday:eek:

    Off to finish my sleepy tea and a chapter of my book, a lovely end to a lovely day :)

    Happy Easter Sunday to you :)

    PP xx

    Hello :wave:

    The weather here is foul, no snow but it feels like November out there :eek: I usually get some gardening jobs done in the Easter hols but not this year - I ain't venturing out in that!

    DS is clearly immune as he met up with his mates to play football:eek: DD was at the other end of the activity spectrum as she recovers from what seems to have been a good night:rotfl:

    I've had a day of balance :). I know, me - I'm really trying not to go at things like a loon :p

    In terms of relaxing I've read (a lot:)), watched an episode of Peaky Blinders, had a long chat with one of my old pals on the phone, went and had a cup of tea with mum and dad and had a lo lunch with Ds :)

    My tasks for today was to sort out the lo from the weekend and have an eBay blitz and managed to;

    Portion up pilau rice and mushroom basmati rice and put in the freezer
    Froze lo naan bread, chocolate torte and Bombay potatoes
    Made stock from turkey crown carcass in sc and the added lo veg, roast pots and dauphiniose pots and lo cream and blitzed which made 4 two person pots of soup. I'll take one to mum and dad tomorrow and the others can go in the freezer.
    Cleaned out the fridge
    Made ds a packed lunch as he's at work tomorrow, dd is having lo.

    I had a maximum £1 payment and no insertion fees offer from eBay which expired today so I went through my eBay stash and my wardrobe and drawers. I've photographed and listed 35 items plus 16 unsold ones. I've staggered the finish dates so I'm not overwhelmed with packing and posting and I've decided everything gets I listing plus two relistings then its off to the Cs. I ironed and photographed everything in one go but did the listings throughout the day so it wasn't too boring (just quite boring:rotfl:). Hopefully it'll generated another few ££ for the os pot as well as getting rid of a load of clutter:)

    Tomorrow's me time is yet to be decided although I have a kettlebells class booked for 9. Both the kids are at work so I can please myself:). My tasks are to plant my herb and veggie seeds into propagators (I'm new to this so I'm relying on very scant knowledge gleaned from a Cs book:o). According to my book I'm a month behind already:o:o. Must try harder! I'm also going to file some admin stuff so everything is up to date for when I get the rental accounts ready for the accountant next week.

    In other news I've had a nsd, sent an email I've been putting off, requested a call back from my avc provider to set up online access to my account and my year's supply of wine has arrived:j. The driver was very impressed with the offer but did say I was his only delivery that didn't include any food :rotfl:

    I'm off to read a few chapters of my book before lights out at 10.30:)

    Happy Easter Monday to you :):)

  • Cheeky delivery man!!

    Does sound like a lovely day of pottering though (apart from the eBay thing, I REALLY need to get my bum in gear with sorting stuff to sell/Pass on!)

    Pinky: how many industrial freezers do you own? With all your leftovers and ys bargains, I'm struggling to see how the average domestic freezer has enough space!

    I hope the weather picks up for us all tomorrow.

    Evening :wave: I've had another balanced day :D. Once I'd got ds off to work I took a coffee back to bed and read for almost an hour - this is still my very favourite treat :). I then went to kettle bells, had a nice long shower and ate breakfast while reading a book as there were no kids to set a bad example to:p. I used up the last of the lo cream shoving a job lot of korma which ds loves in the sc and then got all my papers together and rooted the propagators out of the garage as today was planting and admin day :D

    I felt weirdly energised and had really enjoyed my class and as there were two spaces left on the lunchtime Pilates class I tootled back to the leisure centre and had a nice stretchy hour. I also did a spin class tonight - honestly if I didn't have to fit a pesky job in I'd be ripped :rotfl:

    I then spent the afternoon doing today's tasks but had reading time and Peaky Blinders time in between. My admin is done:j. Its all filed and I went through my receipts and have a list of things to request or print off so I can get everything together ready for my tax return. I also went through my utilities stuff and got rid of everything that was out of date and filed a wodge of legal stuff in the right places. Don't know why I put it off, it doesn't take long and it feels soooooo good when its done:)
    I've also planted courgettes, radishes, basil and coriander. I need two more propagators really as I'd like to get some parsley and salad leaves going. I might go an have a ratch about in dad's shed!

    Dinner was nice and easy - turkey and mushroom pie filling from the freezer, ys ready rolled pastry, baked potatoes and frozen veggies. It only took about 10 mins prep and I also did a couple of extra pies for lunch boxes tomorrow.

    In money news I've bought a new dress, that nobody has worn before me! This is a very rare thing indeed. However I haven't blown my mfw credentials completely as it was £5.15 inc postage off ebay:rotfl: Its an evening dress from Wallis so next Christmas I'll be off my work's party having just taken the tags off my dress - unheard of :rotfl:

    Having been through my wardrobe and doing a much needed cull (things I never wear, look a bit past their best or look a bit dated) I came to the conclusion that I actually need a few things (an evening dress wasn't on the list though :o). So I'm on the look out for a couple of summer dresses and a couple of winter ones for work. I also need some sandles for work so the hunt is on. I'm going to keep an eye of eBay and the Cs but will be very discerning - good quality classic styles only. It'll probably blow my personal spends but hopefully not by much and it will give me a much needed boost - I've dresses in my wardrobe that I've been wearing for over 10 years :eek:

    So apart from committing to being a bit spendy I've calculated my March totals and I'm amazed. I've been £557 down on rent due to the house being empty for a few weeks and then had to cover £90 of rerental fees. I also had my costly car repair although that came out of the annual costs pot so it didn't really impact it just felt like it did!
    Because I seriously tightened my belt and had a selling blitz (£238 through eBay and musicmagpie) my totals have been unaffected:j

    March's totals were;

    Avc. £880/£880 net :j

    Os saving £905.44/£430 :j

    Os interest benefit £76.08:j

    Capital reduction £1844.11 /£1250 :j :j

    Mortgage neutral balance £89,883.53 :j :j :j. I'm actually in the eighties :D:D. Such a good feeling:)

    Off to celebrate with a cup of sleepy tea and an early night :rotfl:

    Happy Tuesday to you :)

    Hello :wave:

    Crikey this weather :eek: Torrential rain all day pretty much so today's task of going into town to sort out some banking bits, drop stuff at the accountants and get a few things from HB and £land didn't happen. I swapped for some inside jobs and painted the double doors between the kitchen and the lounge which were seriously grubby and should have been done last summer:o. I did the skirting boards and tomorrow I'll touch up the emulsion and have a spring clean. I've also two floor tiles that need re-groutng which I've never done so I'll have a look on YouTube and then have a bash!
    The house needs a deep clean:( One room at a time I think. My bedroom and bathroom are OK as they were done recently, the kids can sort their hovels out so its just the kitchen/diner, lounge, utility room and hall way really. I'll hopefully get the kitchen done tomorrow.

    I've no money news but a few mfw successes included;

    Nice lie in with a coffee and my book

    Finding all the paint I needed in the garage

    Lo for lunch and carbonara using lo gammon from the freezer for dinner.

    Defrosted lo risotto for lunches tomorrow and dinner will be ys fish as dd is out with her boyfriend - she hates fish and ds and I love it so we tend to have it when she's out.

    Did a kettle bells class this morning

    Had coffee with my sister :)

    Bagged up korma sauce and put it in the freezer

    Made over night oats for tomorrow's breakfast

    Had a coup!e of undisturbed hours with my book this afternoon.

    Got a load of laundry done ready to hang on the line as we are forecast sun tomorrow:j

    Happy hump day :):)

  • Happy hump day indeed. Sounds like a good day. I hope the weather is better for you tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I've seen the odd fish swimming down the street. It's too wet for anything else!
