That's glorious! That's definitely what a healthy ER looks like :) except there's no scary stuff to read :)

Thank you lovely Karma:). Always nice to get some help focussing on the dream from someone whose achieved it.

Popping in for a quick update while the coffee in brewing - loving these no rush mornings:)

We've got more snow which looks very pretty but should make this morning's trail run interesting! Plans for the day are fluid, depending on how we feel but reading will definitely feature and probably a walk.
Yesterday's walk was bitterly cold but we were well wrapped up and took coffee (and cake :)) and it was great to get out and about. Not sure how far it was but we were out for about three hours so it was a decent stretch of the legs.

Lunch was leftovers soup and ys artisan bread and dinner was veggie chilli from the freezer so healthy, thrifty and almost no effort. It was also a nsd so my thrifty holiday is so far so good. No chores done though:o

Coffee is done so back to bed to read and look out on the snow before donning my running shoes:eek:

Wishing everyone a good start to the week:)

It's the simple things, it really is, along with a few big splashes :)

Difficult to get going in the cold :o part of me wants to hibernate still :o plus I took the weekend off, but I'll make a decision here and now, instead of faffing with the house or my papers, I'll read through the next 3 chapters - you have to keep going with that once you've started. Thanks!

Good for you, and good luck with it. I know what you mean about the weather, you just want to hunker down and eat cake (or is that just me?:rotfl:). Xx

Staycations are just fabby, we are having such a lovely time despite the weather!
This morning's run saw sunshine, sleet, snow, ice and lots and lots of mud:eek: it was bitterly cold but quite invigorating once you got going. Thoroughly enjoyed it but it has to be said that a long hot shower and a large coffee have never felt so good :)

The rest of the day has gone at a leisurely pace with post run breakfast, a bit of reading, a nice chat, the rest of the leftovers soup and posh ys bread for lunch. All very civilised, I could get used to this!
After lunch we had a muddy woodland walk with more snow but it was great to get out and blow the cobwebs away. Home to our new (and so lovely) ritual of tea and hm cake:). Dinner was ys fish and roasted veggies with lo pesto which was very thrifty and very easy (bake in the bag).
This evening will be continuing the new boxset, glass of wine and possibly a little snooze given how heavy my eyelids feel:o

No chores of any description done except some laundry (muddy running kit, muddy walking kit...). It has, however been utterly perfect day in its own simple way (listen to Karma, she's very wise:A). It was also a nsd - funny that:p

Congrats to those who've successfully battled through a working Monday (unlike this content, lazy piggy!) :T :T

Anyone else 'enjoying' a plethora of weather? Today started out cold, windy and wet which turned to snow and this afternoon was cold but glorious sunshine!

Rather enjoying my running at the moment so I got out between showers and it proved cold but worth it. Felt good for getting out. As the snow then set in for a couple of hours it seemed a good time to read and have a little snooze:o
Lunch was soup and ys rolls from the freezer so nice and easy and as the sky was blue and the sun was shining we got out for a walk for a couple of hours. Gorgeous afternoon but the mud! The fields and lanes are at saturation point, its going to take ages to dry out. Was thankful (again) for waterproof boots:)

The rest of the afternoon was feet up, tea, hm scones and hm jam. Lovely :D

Dinner is pasta with sauce from the freezer, lo roasted pesto veg from yesterday and a few lo olives. Found the last of the blackberries when tidying the freezer so they are in a crumble for tonight's dinner.

I've no money news except my 5th nsd in a row:j. Has underlined again the value of experiences over 'stuff'. We had the loveliest week and not a penny spent :D

Again, no chores except muddy laundry and a clean out of the fridge. Feeling very chilled, relaxed and well exercised though! Chores can wait :D

    Happy Tuesday to you :)

  • Sounds like you're having a wonderful staycation pinkypig :)

I love quiet times like this - but so much more so in the summer! So much fun and enjoyment to be had without spending a penny, or spending very little at worst :D
