Sounds like a lovely day. Have a good thrifty week.Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Jinx!!! I was just posting on your diary :rotfl:Original mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.

Holey Moley - how long until Christmas? My class were shocking today:eek: Let's just hope routine,listening and work won't seem so alien to them tomorrow:( . Seriously, it felt like pushing and elephant up a hill today!
In other news I came home to a very chilly house which isn't nice and is the one thing guaranteed to set the kids off grumbling and I need them on side. I got a portable thermostat last year when the wall mounted one broke but I've just used the manual setting,popping it on for a bit here and there. Tonight I sat down with the instructions and set it (I think because I'm behod rubbish at these things) to come on just before I get up for half an hour and then again before ds gets in from school for an hour and a half. Fingers crossed:o
There is no money news except its been a nsd and Shopium have confirmed my 50% refund on my latest item - ginger beer. Its gone in my treats for Christmas cupboard which is quite a random collection but it's mounting up. The ginger beer didn't work out any cheaper than sm own brand but as we never get anything branded at least it looks like I've pushed the boat out :rotfl:
Other small successes which will hopefully build up to be big ones;
Finished line drying laundry which was freezing cold but dry by tonight. Also put it away (I'm a bit lax with this generally).
Cheap, easy and healthy eats (porridge for breakfast, lo pie filling and roast veggies for lunch, batch cooked chilli from the freezer for dinner. By adding the passata lo from Saturday's pizza and the end of a bag of sweetcorn and doing e tea rice there is enough for lunches tomorrow plus a portion of rice for the freezer.
Kettlebells class done
Marking up to date and prep done for tomorrow.
Happy kids
I'm now off for a catch up on the diaries before a much needed early night. Life in the fast lane :rotfl::rotfl:

Ella XMF planning for the simple life :beer::j0 -
Hi Ella :wave:
Thing much calmer at work thanks and 7 and a bit weeks to go:D
I find with running the toughest bit is getting out of the door. Once out I'm OK but I'm rather skilled at thinking of reasons not to get started
Enjoy your nice warm house::)!! Xx

:j:j:j. Love the first of the month . Seeing those numbers falling makes every bit of effort feel worthwhile. Can't wait until tomorrow:)
Today's been a good day. Work was uneventful and my marking is up to date which is always a relief. There's nothing really noteworthy but if you look closely enough you can usually find a few successes:D
Today's were;
Nsd
Spin class done
Lovely long chat with dd
Ds has done some revision:eek:
Cheap, (mostly ) healthy easts ( overnight oats for breakfast, lo chilli for lunch and ys sausages, mash and onion gravy for dinner).
Daily clean done - a swept floor and a clean sink makes such a difference!
Tomorrow will be about reviewing October and goal setting for November. Given that I can't wait l clearly need to get out more:rotfl:
Off to bed as I'm pooped.

At long last I get to do my totals:j. I've had my spends and os savings since the 28th but my mortgage doesn't update until the 1st, its been so frustrating:rotfl:
The final scores were;
Grocery, toiletries, cleaning and pets £143.43/£150 :j
Fuel £50/£150 (half term plus lift sharing made big savings):j
Personal spends £43.22/£50 (really pleased with this as it included paying the balance of my Christmas party which was £23) :j :j
AVC contribution (net). £800/£800 (so glad this is finally up running):)
OS savings £867.44/£400 :j :j
Os benefit from interest on os savings account £65.78
So my new mortgage neutral balance is ££98, 653.05 :j :j :j
I have a five figure mortgage two months ahead of my end of year target:beer: I am beyond ecstatic! Have I ever mentioned how glad I am to have found this forum? After years of uncertainty it is such a huge relief to be in control and moving forward.
I tend to bask in this wonderful feeling for 24 hours before I focus on my next medium term milestone and my goals for November. There's certainly no room for complacency with Christmas looming and car insurance and breakdown cover due for renewal but funnily enough I currently feel more than up for it!
Off to do some serious basking now:rotfl:
