Mmmm ... pasties.  I was dreaming of Yorkshire puds today, but they never miraculously happened around me.  Might try dreaming of pasties :)

    Sleep well, PP.

    Hello 😀

What wild day (weather not shenanigans obviously 😂). We have been out to collect the car, picked up some salad and veggies and a couple of other bits in Aldi and that has been it.  We’ve hunkered down at home.  I’ve read and done a bit of baking and OH has done a bit of life stuff and watched the rugby. It’s been very relaxing even though we were a bit sad we didn’t get a day walking in the hills.
Tonight is pizza and film night.  The pizzas are in the oven and I’m off to get my pjs on before settling down for a cosy night in.  I couldn’t think of anything I’d like to do less than getting my fancy pants on and going out in that weather 😂😂
    Today’s small steps to freedom and happiness included;
A fabulous sleep, I didn’t wake until 7.15 which is unheard of and I felt so rested.  OH brought me coffee in bed and we read until 9.30 as there was nothing to rush up for .  Perfect 😀
Made sourdough pizza base , coleslaw and 2 sourdough loaves
Made scones and a Victoria sponge for the freezer and OH’s elevenses as he’s working from home this week.
Hoovered up the worst of the dog hair (again😱)
Had a nice chat with my auntie
Snuggled up by the fire and read my book
Spent £5.95 in Aldi on lots of salad, spinach, flax seeds and some veg so not a NSD.  I’m hoping to put off our actual shop until later in the week as I’ve done the meal plan and all we needed was the bits I got today
My pizzas are almost ready so I’ll say night night.
    PP xx

I’m getting good at lazy days KC 😂.
I get a lot of contentment from the simple things these days, one of the few benefits of getting older !
    I hope you’ve had a restful weekend x

    Hello 😀

Another weekend is over🥲. At least I’ve only got got four working days until half term!
The wild weather has continued today although the rain did let up occasionally.  The showers have been wintry with lots  of sleet so not a day for walking the hills.
We got out for a longer run this morning and nearly got blown away!  It was good to get out though and we took it steady and had a nice chat about some future plans.  I had a nice hot bubble bath when I got home whilst watching the end of film and OH brought me an oat milk cappuccino.  Life doesn’t get much better 😀
We went to see DD and her BF later on and then DS came round for a roast this evening so it’s been a lovely family day.  I cooked and OH cleared up and DS ate 😂. I did a veggie version for us and used up some roast beef left over from Christmas for the meat eaters.
I found some cheese sauce in the freezer so poured that over some leeks and there was also some braised red cabbage which cut down on the cooking.  I just had to roast some carrots and potatoes, make some mash and Yorkshire pudding and heat up some green beans.  Seeing as we had guests I made a pudding - microwave treacle sponge and custard . So quick and easy and it was yummy. We were all in a bit of a food coma afterwards though! .  DS got a doggy bag to take home and we’ve got enough for another dinner tomorrow so no cooking after work 😀. I also did double amounts of mashed potatoes so we can have veggie sausage, mash and onion gravy later in the week.
    Today’s other small steps to freedom and happiness included;
    A good sleep
Went back to bed with a coffee and did some reading
Two loads of laundry done and a dry load folded (but not put away 🙄)
    Washed the dog beds
kindling bucket and log basket filled up for the week
emptied the bin and the recycling bin
OH cleaned my car inside and out 😍
made overnight oats to take to work and defrosted some soup to take for lunch
Sliced the sourdough loaves and put them in the freezer
I didn’t have a nsd as I needed plain and SR flour, baking margarine, some extra veggies and potatoes with having last minute guests this evening so £7.14 spent in Aldi.
My cold feels so much better but I’m off for an early night so I can try and get the week off to a good start.
    Happy Sunday 😂

Got to have a shopping list!
I saw a blogger using a free app called Shopping Uk.  It’s fab, you do your list and add to it through the week and then when you click start it puts everything into a category which you can check off on your phone as you go through each supermarket section 😀. You can also share your list with OH if you decide to offload the chore 😂

    Hello 😀
I’m not feeling very smiley tonight- I’m so hassled!  I’ve got four horrible hassles at the moment, none of them huge (although one could be problematic ) but they are all raising their heads at once and nothing is proving straightforward (read going round in bloody circles 😡🥲) and had a bit of an overwhelm before 9 am!
OH has been lovely and gave me a ‘none of them really matter and we’ll sort them out one step at a time’ chat when I got home and I feel so much better but I’ve still got that nasty churning feeling in my stomach.  Anyhoo, I’ve had a bath and a batch cooked dinner is heating up.  I’ve lit a nice candle and the fire is on.  Doggo is sleeping in her basket and OH is finishing off his work for the night .  Life is good and I must not let the d***kheads and the incompetents cast their shadows on it.  Easy said than done sometimes though!
I have had some small victories today 😀
    Kindness and understanding in abundance
    a good sleep
    went for a run
    a nice day at work
cheap healthy eats - all batch cooked so no cooking or prep
    a NSD
laundry all done and the clean stuff away.  There is just one load on the airer which will dry in front of the fire tonight
I’m now off to check on dinner followed by a night on the sofa watching the rest of the film that I couldn’t stay awake for last night!
    Happy Tuesday 😀

    Hello 😀

I seemed to have slipped into holiday mode and have been very lax with my updates and my routines in general!
I have  had a weekend of pet sitting and parent sitting which was lovely but didn’t leave much time for anything else! It did however mean a no spend weekend.
it felt like yesterday was the start of the holidays and I had a very relaxed day.  I went for a run, had a long bath, made some sourdough rolls and a loaf, binge watched The Bay and generally enjoyed not been at work😀.
I did swallow a load  of frogs though.  All of them were literally a phone call - why do I put them off?
My hassles are subsiding.  The biggest one is sorted and there has been a financial impact but lessons learned.  I won’t be so soft and trusting going forward.  The other three were frustrating admin things.  Two are sorted (one with compensation 💰😀) and the other is rumbling on but I’ve now made a complaint so hopefully that will be sorted soon.
In money news I’ve taxed the car and filled it with fuel (I save about £40 when I’m not at work😀) done a small food shop (£18.55) and have got an annual travel policy.  Other than that I’ve had no spends at all .  It feels like I have broken the spending cycle that seems to get a hold during December.  At the moment I’m not even tempted to spend - I hope it lasts!
OH was away yesterday but is due back in the next hour so I’ve made spinach and mushrooms lasagna for dinner and there’s an extra one for the freezer.  We don’t do the spendy side of Valentine’s Day but I think I’ll cook a nice meal tomorrow as a belated celebration/date night.   I think I’ll do hm burgers, wedges and coleslaw and some sort of pudding.
We had all sorts of staycation plans for this week but the forecast is shocking😱.  I think there might be lots of reading and tv 🙄
    Happy Tuesday 😀
