    Hi Karma 😀.  They are a bit of an investment but worth it in the long run.  I was forever replacing plastic ones.  I love mine so much - they are one of my best ever frugal purchases.  Sometimes it’s just worth investing a bit of money.
    Hope all is well with you x

    Hello 😀.  Another day’s work done but still no kids.  It’s been a good day, lots of laughs and catch ups and a lot of things ticked off my list.

    We’ve had thunderstorms today and torrential rain, there was a lot of flooding on the small country roads but at least the fields and gardens got a good drink.  I’ve never seen the river so low.

    I’m feeling quite motivated at the moment and I’m sure it’s the accountability of my little diary.  I really must keep it up.

    Today’s small successes included;

    A nsd, as was yesterday. Added these to my spending diary which I’m updating daily so I don’t lose track.

    Cheap healthy eats (overnight oats, hm soup and rice cakes, lo veggie risotto from the freezer with some salad). Getting so low on salad but I’m determined to not do a top up shop.

    Recycling sorted out ready for collection

    Productive afternoon. Classroom ready for action!

    Quick wipe round the bathroom and kitchen .  This is a good habit I’ve got into.  Takes minutes and just keeps everything nice.  I need a clean and organise environment so might as well just accept it!

    Forgot to swallow my frog but did swallow another one (phone call)

    Arranged lift sharing for the rest of the week.

    Got a load of jobs knocked off my work to do list and the rest will  wait until later in the week.

    Paid TCB payout into savings plus a TT.

    Had confirmation of increased AVC contribution.  Feel better for taking that positive and necessary step towards early retirement. It doesn’t leave me with much salary though 😱

    Cut open the toothpaste tube to get a few more days out of it!

    Laundry done (15 minute cycle)and on the airer.

    Did spin class with weights 😱 and 20 minutes yoga.  Really couldn’t be bothered but felt so much better for it and hopefully it’ll help me sleep a bit better.

    Less successful things included;

    Got SIPP investment report - less than positive 🥲🥲. Crazy investment times😱. Must hold my nerve.

    Didn’t drink enough water

    Terrible night’s sleep.  I never think I’m stressed about work but I think I must be because my sleep in the holidays is so much better.

    I actually feel tired so I’m going to head off to bed to read and hopefully sleep.

    Happy Tuesday 😀

    Overall positive I'd say! Hope you sleep better tonight. You've reminded me i haven't made breakfast for in the morning!

    You did a lot, PP!  And there's always things not done at the end of the day.  Hope you slept better.

    Hello 😀

    Thank you for your good sleep vibes ladies - it worked!  Slept like a log 😀

    I’ve done a day with children- vast amounts of them! My new class are lovely but it’s huge.  We didn’t achieve much in terms of work but focused on settling in, routines and expectations.  It’s generally time we’ll spent.  It also generates no marking 😂. I am however, pooped.  Definitely not as young as I was 😂

    I drove home through thunder, lightning and torrential rain so visibility wasn’t great.  It’s still weirdly warm though which is good as I’ll be holding off on the heating for as long as possible.

    Today was rent day which funds two regular savers and leaves a small surplus that has been transferred to my savings account.

    It’s been a pretty calm and normal day but I have achieved some small successes, namely ;

    A NSD 😀

    Drank enough water (takes a bow 😂😂).

    Cheap, healthy eats (sultana overnight oats for breakfast, hm lentil soup , a ys bread roll and a salad for lunch and the last of the lo veggie risotto and salad for dinner). Salad is very low but I’m determined not to shop before Friday unless I can get a Morrison’s TGTG box but these are rarer than hen’s teeth round these parts.

    Did an Boxercise class and 20 minutes yoga.

    Lunch and breakfast ready for tomorrow.

    Took coffee and water to work.

    Still stretching out my toothpaste.

    Took a lightening quick and warm rather than hot shower after my workout.

    Lift shared

    Folded DS’s bedding which has finally dried.

    Had a video chat with DD.

    Turned off all unnecessary electrical things before I left for work.

    In other news, genuinely forgot that b****y frog again and desperately need to hoover.  Not today though, I’m off to bed.

    Hope no one has got washed away 🙈.  Happy Hump day 😀😀

    Hello 😀

    My weekend has started 🥳. Love my shorter working week.

    I feel so sad about the Queen 😢.  I wouldn’t say I’m a royalist but I’ve always rather admired her.

    My day has been good, long but good.  No dramas, which is always nice, and very productive.  I got everything ready for next week before I left so my future self will thank me.  I’ve got a pile of marking to do but I’ll get that done over the weekend.

    I’ve no money news apart from a NSD .  The fridge is looking pretty empty but I’ve made it to Friday with no top ups !

    I feel so tired !!! Hope I manage to build up some stamina or I won’t make it to half term 😂😂.  I feel like such a light weight.

    I’ve been thinking a lot about my financial goals and I’m going to use the next few days to decided what I want to achieve and how I’m going to do it.

    No huge achievements today but a few small but important steps included;

    Folded the dry laundry and put it away

    Changed the bed and hung it on airers as we are still having thunderstorms.

    Hoovered downstairs.  Last year I got a really good vacuum as my second hand one just didn’t cope well with the dog hair and everywhere looked a mess, even when you’d just done it.  It’s now a very quick job and the floors look great! Another worth the investment purchase that I’m glad I made.

    Cheap healthy eats (red berry overnight oats for breakfast, hm soup and a ys roll for lunch, lo veggie sausage tray bake from the freezer with green beans for dinner)

    Took coffee and water to work.

    Had a rest day as I’ve done a lot of cardio this week.  I had a celebratory start of my weekend bubble bath instead and it was lovely 😊

    Lift shared

    Remembered to swallow that frog and did it!

    Had a reasonable night’s sleep

    I’m off to bed to read and it will be lights out at 10.30!

    Happy Thursday 😀

    Happy Friday 😀

    I have had such a nice day, I truly have perfected the art of faffing on Fridays!  I woke early (I think that’s just the ways things are these days) and it was actually lovely.  I used to love a lie in but I just can do it anymore but looking on the bright side I can sort out our fur baby and then come back to bed with a coffee and just relax- I love it 😀

    I went for a run this morning and did a longer one which I enjoyed despite getting soaked in a downpour 😱. I got caught up on a phone call when I got home and by the time I’d finished I was so cold that it justified a day bath.

    After that I actually had some errands to run so it was spendy🙈.  I had a list and stuck to it with a couple of minor exceptions.  I got a birthday present and three special cards and a card for a big birthday. The special ones were 3 for 2 at the card factory and I also got 10 birthday cards for £1 to put in my card box.  A couple of them were blank which is handy as they can be used for other occasions.  I always keep a stock to stop last minute card panic buys which always cost a fortune.  £4.77 spent from gifts budget plus £25 for the present.

    I needed calcium tablets and I like the easy to swallow ones from Bodycare.  They are often out of stock but today they weren’t so I got 2. £3.98 spent from the grocery budget.

    As I was in town I called in at Home bargains for poop bags x2,  cleansing wipes x2 and they finally had 8 hour tea lights back in stock so I got 2 bags .  I thought these would be good over the winter instead of electric lights.  I’ve got loads of tea light holders and two wax melt burners so I can have lots of cosy evenings and they will be much cheaper than fancy candles and will certainly be cheaper than having the lamps on £7.61 spent from grocery budget.

    I’m trying to keep my house and my wardrobe free of things that are no longer useful.  Today it was three paperbacks, a plastic food container that is a size that is literally no use and two unflattering jumpers. One has shrunk a bit and the sleeves look too short and the other just does nothing for me.  All delivered to the CS.  I did have a look in (rude not too 🙄) and got two long rectangular serving plates that will be great for Christmas and BBQs and a couple of baskets for hampers .  £2.50 spent.

    I also did the weekly food shop which was £33.55 and included the ingredients for three birthday cakes which I’d forgotten to budget for 🙈

    On the plus side, I still have half a tank of fuel due to lift sharing!

    Today’s steps to success included;

    A large oat milk cappuccino in bed - literally the best start to the weekend.

    Went for a run.

    A bubble bath whilst watching a fabulous YouTuber who is living on a poverty line income but who is so thrifty her clothes and her home look amazing!

    Had coffee with mum

    Cheap healthy eats ( overnight oats with foraged blackberries, hm soup and rice cakes for lunch and mushroom omelette and salad for dinner ).

    Great CS finds

    Stuck to my budget for birthday gift

    Food shop on budget despite forget about birthday cake ingredients.

    Tomorrow is going to be financial goals and a major garden tidy!

    Ooh, do report on your financial goal setting and gardening plans 😁 Good work on the frugal shopping. Who is your thrifty youtuber?

    I was pondering what might go in the hay box next but it may well be lentil soup... Lots of rain here today so soup feels appropriate!
