It's so nice to have you back PP. The four day week sounds amazing - I can only dream that one day I can do the same.
I missed reading about your meals!I am very sad. Your dinner always sounds amazing and the budgeting is so much less than I spend. I'm a terrible cook and this is something I really want to improve on but I'm not sure where to start..

Thank you for popping in ladies and for your endless support :A. It is so good to be back and even better that life no longer feels like it’s spiralling- I am loving the pace of my life right now, it’s full enough and there’s sufficient challenge to keep things interesting but it’s definitely balanced. No more chasing my tail :rotfl: Your right about the money Cheery, worth every penny

Evening:wave:
Having just said all of that about balance - what a flipping day ! It’s been a gorgeous, sunny one but heavens it’s been busy.
I slept really well but was awake at 5.15 and as I don’t need to be up until 6 I took a coffee back to bed and read for a while which was really nice. The rest of the day has been good but very full. I had a meeting after school, did a lunchtime club, an exercise class, fed DS, met up with DD and then had a late dinner with her and my mum . Note to self - don’t try and fit everything into one day!
Anyhoo, it’s done now and I’m showered and tucked up in bed with my electric blanket on - lovely
Today’s small steps to freedom and happiness included;
A NSD apart from milk and petrol
Drank enough water
Had a good sleep
Did a Boxercise class
Cheap, healthy eats (porridge for breakfast, lo for lunch and ham and leek pasta bake and salad for dinner)
Took coffee and snacks to work
Emptied all the bins ready for today’s collection
Wrote a to do list for the next two days
Was reminded that my children have turned out well (not perfect but pretty good all round ). Makes me happy
Lovely chat with Mr P who is very busy with work but always finds time to call
I’ve been thinking about the coming month which has a couple of spendy occasions as it’s DS’s Birthday. I’ve also just had my accounts back and know how much tax I need to pay in January and July . It’s all budgeted for and the money is there but I hate dipping into my savings !! Consequently, I’d like to tighten things up a bit so I can try and cash flow some of it.
Consequently this month’s budgets will be ;
Grocery £140 plus £50 for DS’s family party
Personal £50
Transport £240
I’ve got my mortgage figures but need to do my totals. I’ll also need to brace myself for the fact that my mortgage neutral balance will take a hit when I pay my tax bill but needs must!
Happy Hump Day to you:)

I’m having a long weekend away visiting Mr P . He’s such a lovely host it feels like I’m on my holidays 😁
We have had a lovely, relaxed NSD which included a walk and a bike ride. I love my city breaks and he enjoys getting away to the countryside. Win/win😁. Tomorrow we are sightseeing and then having a few treats as the year of big birthdays continues!
Yesterday was uneventful. Work went well and my weekend began when I reached my destination where a glass of wine was waiting
In other news my mortgage now stands at £25,880.06 with this month’s capital reduction been £1020.69 despite no rent, paying for my new carpet and putting aside money for a large unexpected XH related expense :mad: Can’t believe I’m on track to be MF in two years max . Makes me so happy . Never again will I need to feel vulnerable or trapped in a situation that is making me miserable. It’s a powerful feeling
Small steps to freedom and happiness so far this weekend included;
Got a cheap advance train ticket
Took coffee, snacks and a sandwich for the train
Walked to the station
Marking up to date and classroom tidy. Also got next week’s planning done
A nsd today
Enjoying our staycation - hm pizza tonight
Life feels good
Happy Friday to you, have a fabulous weekend

Back to earth with a bump - nothing like a cold, rainy Monday morning to do that!
Work has been fine but I had a meeting after school that ran over which is always a bit of a pain. It also meant I could get home in time for my spin class which is probably just as well as I’m streaming with cold. Other than that the day has ticked along nicely
DD has sorted out her work place pension which I’m so glad about ( have been gently reminding/nagging ) . She’s sensible when it comes to money so pointing out the employer’s contribution and the tax relief meant I was pushing an open door. Very pleased that it’s all up and running though
DS is also beginning to pay attention to forward planning and has asked me to help with breakdown cover. I’ve run the comparisons and checked the small print so we have a favourite so I’ll get that done tonight.
I’ve had a think through big expenses that I’ve got to deal with in the next three months - Tax (actual bill and then two payments on account for next year - such a pain :mad:) accountant’s bill, car insurance and breakdown, DS’s big birthday, Christmas - the list goes on:eek:
Frustrating as it is, I cannot cash flow it all and a chunk of money in my OS savings is actually money set aside for these things so counting it as savings and then not wanting to take it out is a bit daft - I’ve got to be realistic. Consequently, some os funds will need to be used so over the next three months I won’t see any improvement in my mortgage neutral balance, in fact it might get worse. Needs must though, as I stated earlier in the month, if I can pay all my bills and have a mortgage neutral balance of around £26k by the end of January 2020 I’ll be chuffed.
I’ve got all my jobs on my list for today done so I’m going to have a quite night with the GBBO , a cup of tea and a box of tissues - oh the glamour!
Today’s small steps to freedom and happiness included;
Marking up to date, classroom fairly tidy
Three loads of laundry done and on the airers
Thai green curry sauce in sc overnight
Food shop done (just fruit, veg and salad ) for £5.74
Aldi have chalk paint on clearance- £3.99 so I got two tins to do my bedroom furniture
Wrapped a friend’s birthday pressies
Meal plan using freezer contents done - need to update the list
Spreadsheets up to date
Fire on, candles and gorgeous wax melt lit
Enjoying listening to the rain whilst feeling warm, relaxed and cosy inside.
No heating on yet !
Happy Monday to you, I hope it’s been a good start to the week
