You absolutely don't come across as a middle aged, middle class t@sser PP. You come across as a very hard working and resourceful person, who is doing her absolute best with the hand that you have been dealt.
The whole point of these diaries is to share our journeys so that others can pick up ideas and inspiration. It is actually an incredibly generous that you share the detail, because it makes things more real and comparable.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Seconded (or is it thirded or fourthed?) Who knows, but I agree!Choose kind0

Evening
Thank you, again. That’s such a relief!
It is a tough one though isn’t it? Would hate anyone to think I was gloatingYou’re all so nice to take the time to offer a bit of perspective and reassurance :A
Hiya Wish  I’m looking forward to a coffee and a bit of reading followed by a spin class, then lunch with some old school friends, then coffee with my mum and a bit of pottering in the garden - it’s bliss, I wish I done it years ago!
Today has been a good day, everyone happy, no mishaps, no dramas - lovely
Small steps to financial freedom and wellbeing included;
Took coffee, lunch and snacks to work
Got 4 garlic and cheese pizzas, snack tikka pasties, tear and share bread, brioche burger buns and 4 bags of salad leaves - 10p each! Everything is in the freezer and the listed is updated. The salad leaves are in an airtight container with kitchen roll underneath so it should be good for a few more days.:money:
Weekly food shop done on the way home so it doesn’t interfere with my day off tomorrow! Didn’t need much at all just fruit and veg, cheese, dog food, loo roll, coffee , eggs, milk and cereal. Also got extra eggs and essentials chocolate to make an ultimate chocolate cake for DD’s Birthday. £22.74 - pleased with that
Chickpea and sweet potato curry, brown rice and hm naan defrosting for dinner tomorrow
DD’s breakfast, lunch and snacks ready
Cheap, healthy eats- porridge for breakfast, lo veggie lasagna and salad for lunch, black bean shepherd’s pie with sweet potato mash and veggies from the freezer for dinner
Laundry done and in front of the wood burner ( has to light it, it’s so chilly!).
Classroom tidy, marking up to date and planning for next week done so I’ve got three whole days off work
Went through my presents box and sorted out all my September birthdays- nothing to buy! There’s also enough cards as I did a stock up when the Card Factory had a 10 for a £1 offer on. Loads of gift bags from end of term gifts so 4 birthdays done and no extra spends:money:
To do list for the weekend done
My electric blanket is on and I’m now in bed with a hot chocolate - it must be September in the frozen north :rotfl:
Happy Thursday to you, hope it’s been a good one

Evening:wave:
What is going on with the weather? We seem to have gone from autumn back to summer - it’s been lovely today.
I had such a nice day yesterday. I’ve not achieved much but I’ve had lots of fun and lots of relaxing.
I woke fairly early but took a coffee back to bed and read for an hour and then had a nice chat on the phone with my friend.
I did a morning spin class and then met up with friends for lunch to celebrate a big birthday! It was lovely to see them and 31/2 hours just disappeared. £20 spent and worth every penny.
Consequently, I’ve not done much else!
Dinner was chickpea and sweet potato curry from the freezer. Laundry folded and put away followed by watching a bit of tv and an early night!
I am really loving my four day week and the difference it has made to my well being has been huge. I feel more relaxed and I’n enjoying work more so it feels like a win all round. I hope I still feel like that on pay day.:rotfl:
Work have been brilliant about the whole thing and were so kind when dad died. They have employed someone to cover my day so I literally finish on Thursday, mark their books ready for Friday and I’m done until Monday.:j
I’m off to get another coffee then I’m going to bring it back to bed, do my to do list and then read until 8 o’clock when I think I’m going to give my recovering muscle a little run out to see if it actually has recovered
Hope you have a lovely weekend

Morning
... and breathe. What a week, it’s been so busy! All good though.
It’s been a full on week of celebrating a raft of special birthdays and it’s been great but between that and work there hasn’t been much slack.
Hiya Karma, Wish and Hetty  , hope you’re all having a good week in the sunshine
I’m enjoying my Friday morning coffee in bed which is still my favourite weekend treat and Friday is now the start of my weekend.:rotfl: We are away for a weekend in London as the final part of our celebrations and have lots planned so it could be a bit spendy but I’m so looking forward to it .
Considering how much I’ve packed in this week and last weekend it hasn’t been too hard on my finances. I knew there was a lot planned so I set myself a personal spends budget of £150 rather than the usual £50 and I will be within in that as my weekend away is a lovely gift.
Today is going to be a wander around in the gorgeous weather, a picnic in one of the parks, a gallery and a museum and then the theatre. I’m so excited!
In other news I’ve eaten and drank too much, done no housework beyond laundry and no exercise  However, my marking is up to date and my planning for next week is done so I’m going to enjoy a guilt free three day weekend :rotfl:
Happy Friday to you
