Cycling vs walkers in country parks

Prejudicial, no.
Simply picking up on the fact that one cyclist on the board says they would like to cycle into pedestrians on a footpath and the other says they have cycled into pedestrians on a footpath.
Again, context is everything.
Why isn't it the pedestrians walking into the cyclist? He has slowed almost to a stop to allow them to make room for him, but they have refused to accommodate him, so they are the ones being ignorant and selfish and maybe a little confrontational (like some anti-cycling posters on here)
The cyclist has nowhere to go, the whole (shared not foot))path is taken up by the pedestrians, even if he stopped completely they would still walk into him.0 -

Your "fact" is biased by your prejudice.
Where's the cycle route? I suspect you are factually wrong about its perfection as well.0 -
I certainly wouldn't like to cycle into anyone.
Sometimes some pedestrians like to consciously make an effort to try and walk into me though for some reason. Sometimes they do it when i'm, cycling and sometimes they do it when i'm walkingAll your base are belong to us.0 -

I did see somebody walk into a tree while looking down at their phone recently, I should not have laughed but I did!
This is easily resolved if you are out walking with your dragon, simply shout the instruction 'dracarys' to your dragon.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
Just read this thread as I have just started cycling along a canal path to work. No problems so far but then I'm pretty considerate.
Intrigued as to this cycle path Altarf talks about but doesn't pinpoint?0 -

I doubt you will have many problems either and I feel from reading forums with them being the way they are it makes it feel like it's a constant battle out there. I've been cycling six years now and there's been very few occasions I've had issues with someone walking or driving, in most cases I find people are considerate to each other.

I cycle 13.5 miles each way along canal paths 3 days a week. Some places are very tight, some have boating communities, sometimes it's very busy, sometimes quiet. It's very very rare I get any issues at all with people/dogs/ducks as I'm considerate.
However this morning I had an incident, (and I'm still wondering if it's related to the bad press about the cyclist in London), where I was approaching a middle aged lady where she was walking away from me. I rang my bell once and there was no reaction at all. Some people don't react because they can't hear it. As I got closer I rang it again, just a small ring so as not to appear aggressive. She turned round and at the top of her voice said "I'm not moving into the f*****g stinging nettles so you can get past"! I was shocked. I didn't even want her to move as there was plenty of room, I was just letting her know I was there.
Be nice on the canal and 99.9% of the time people are nice back.Pants0 -

The vast majority of people I meet while cycling are fine with me but there will always be a few who bare a grudge or are in a bad mood.
As in all interaction with others most of the time you get the reaction you invite or provoke. It's very very rare I get any issues at all with people/dogs/ducks as I'm considerate.0
