Hello all,
Basically what the title says. As I'm moving forward in my OS'ing ways I'm wanting to start keeping a master list of all my cupboards and wondered how everyone else does it. If I do it by hand I can see myself having books and books of stuff if I have something which stays for a long time.
Thank you for reading, any ideas would be great

i type out a list of what I have depending on the cupboard/fridge /freezer and have it saved on my computer, print off a copy, and blu-tack it to the outside of the freezer/fridge, and inside of the cupboard doors as stuff gets used it gets crossed of and I retype a new list when my cupboards need a new list by ammending the stored one on my computer then printing it off. Discard the old one, and re blu tack the new one. all of my cupboards have lists on the inside of stuff I have got in stock.bit like stocktaking a shop I suppose ,I re-arranged this in March of this year and its working a treat as I don't buy unecessary stuff anymore I am using up as much as I can before buying any more0

OpenOffice spreadsheet. (It's like M'Soft Excel but it's freeware)
I have a column for listing the items, and a second column with the amount of them in the cupboard, so it's easy to alter the amount when something is either used or bought.
I have one sheet for the cupboard and another for the freezer; the freezer one has columns for each of the four drawers.
I don't bother printing it out; it's stored on a USB flash drive which is easily inserted into whichever machine happens to be switched on (desktop, laptop or netbook). If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

same here. Mine is in Excel as that is what I have.
The drawers are nominally Desserts x2, veg, fish, meat, bread, fruit but when I run out of space things end up where they fit.
I print out the sheet and we manually update it for a bit before I apply the updates to the master copy. It helps with meal planning. When DD says what is for dinner I give her the list to choose from as it is hard always being the one to come up with the menu.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Ditto - I do the same. I list my freezer contents by shelf so I know where to look for stuff but suspect that might not be the most efficient way of doing it. If I ever get my freezer contents to more manageable levels I would like to have specific shelves for specific things:)i type out a list of what I have depending on the cupboard/fridge /freezer and have it saved on my computer, print off a copy, and blu-tack it to the outside of the freezer/fridge, and inside of the cupboard doors as stuff gets used it gets crossed of and I retype a new list when my cupboards need a new list by ammending the stored one on my computer then printing it off. Spreadsheet on the computer, saved on Google Drive so it can be accessed by anybody with the link, whether on a smart phone, tablet or computer. I've sent the link to OH so he can see what's in the freezer etc and he has permission to edit to remove things he's used. Much better than paper for us.0

Thank you everyone! I was beginning to think no-one had answered until I realized I have to subscribe to my own threads!!!
I will attempt to use a spreadsheet and see how it goes, I only have a second hand ipad at the moment until I can save enough for a laptop so I should be able to have a good go.
Will update after the weekend!0 -
I just open the cupboard/fridge/freezer door and have a look'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0
