Oh, you have to love this time of year - it's great fun isn't it?
    ...
It's also not just about cost for me. Last year we had major flood damage in this part of the world, with no, or unreliable, power for several weeks. I'm registered as a vulnerable customer with SSE and their support for me during that time was outstanding.

I'm sorry to hear about your supply issues. Where in the country was that???

If you were supported by SSE for power intrurruptions, you will still be supported by SSE in the future for power interruptions, no matter how little, (or much!) you agree to pay somone.

You see, the people responsible for your electricity supply is the local electricity network operator; nothing to do with who you pay your bills too.

Enjoy the Summer! It's going to be a breeze! :)

    Where in the country? Lancaster.

Support? I've now checked, and I was mistaken about that; you are correct, thanks.

Probably semantics, but I am not sure I agree with your interpretation. At no time have I ever been an SSE customer.

As far as I am concerned I was an Ebico customer and the administration of my account was handled by SSE.

I agree with you to an extent. As far as I was concerned I was (and still am) an Ebico customer.

But as SSE pointed out in their first letter to Ebico customers, in a legal sense when it came to switching we were SSE 'customers' and it was not legally possible for Ebico to 'switch' us en masse to RHE. So therefore if the law says we cannot be 'switched' from SSE to RHE then it suggests - confusingly - that we were actually SSE customers, despite the impression we as customers had.

I made a comment at the time that it was apparently a loophole in the law which needed fixing to avoid the same kind of confusion in the future.
