I have had cards in the past with MBNA and Virgin but the accounts were closed years ago. Do they keep a record of what I have had in the past or would I be classed as a new customer? Even if I could get £5500 as a BT card then I would be happy as I could then focus on clearing the remaining on the Barclaycard.0

you are usually a new customer after account has been closed for 6 months. As long as you maintained the accounts well last time there is no reason not to apply againI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Ok thats great thank you. Went through the credit club and checked the different cards available and MBNA came out at 95% accepted and Halifax as 90% so hopefully will be able to get the card, transfer the balance and get the debt paid off quicker. Roll on being debt free!0
