    Congrats Slinky xx
  • Congrats Slinky.

I did reorganise the room yesterday as the two storage boxes with drawers were delivered.

I threw away a pair of ratty old slippers. I have three pairs of sandals that I find very uncomfortable and I think I will donate them to a charity shop as I have hardly worn them and they are in very good condition. Someone else will want them.:)

I put all my boots and shoes in the built in wardrobe as I moved all the CDs and books to the back. I saw that I bought some of those shoe gripper things after we had the very cold winter (2009?) and I don't think I have ever used them!:D I will hold on to them in case we do have heavy snow again here.

I put all my warm pyjamas in a drawer ready for winter and went through all our gloves, scarves and hats. I threw away one of my husband's winter hats too.

    Oh Slinky that's fab!

Am about to pack for a week self catering in sunny Scotland :D I am confidant it won't take too long, thanks to MK! Good job, because my 'to do' list today is humungus. Have made a good start, just having a brew while washing has final spin then i shall delve into craft box for the makings for 2 cards (also reasonably tidy, thank goodness), vac upstairs, pick out a few essentials from our store cupboard (you know, the bits you need for self catering rather than buy a whole pack / bottle when you get there, cooking oil, herbs, a couple of stock cubes, coffee etc), then make a few phonecalls and send month end invoice to a client.

    All very do-able :)

Our lovely friends, who live about an hour or so from where we shall be staying have invited us for Sunday lunch and they are fabulous cooks anf great hosts. We are really looking forward to seeing them.

Right, washer is beeping at me to get off my behind and get on with the chores, so must dash. Bye for now

ETA - forgot, 2 sewing jobs to do as well. One for a client ( a minor repair) and a button to put on DH's shirt ( it's his favourite shirt, he says!).
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

DH has just decided that the Skeleton riding a Motorbike ornament that he was given can go! Not done much KM this week apart from a couple of books for the CS but am getting geared up for next week! I have a list ;)

DD's stuff has nearly all gone... somewhere.

Thank god for KM.. I had empty drawers in units and space on top of cupboards and under beds. I will be able to store everything fairly tidily (notwithstanding that we now have two bookcases, a chest of drawers and a bedside table in the conservatory - but I can live with that... for now). But with a bit gone here, a bit there, a bit for DS to take, a bit stored until DD and DS swap back rooms and she gets the bigger room again, I think I can keep a hold on the tidiness - our bedroom and the lounge and kitchen can be kept relatively clutter free..

Some will also go through natural use - cleaning stuff, food (how many types of green, herbal and fruit teas does one person need????), and bliddy candles (see teas...)

The microwave has gone to a friend's son, who has just bought his first house and the desk to another friend's daughter who needs it for her uni house. Hoping she'll take the chair too..

DD has three job interviews in the next couple of weeks, so hoping i can Kondo her for a few hours each week too. :rotfl:

After having stuff cluttering up two garages for months I finally managed to find a man with a van who has a license to dump things and got rid of the offcuts of carpet, paint tins, wood and laminate and a huge headboard.

I had been so desperate to get rid of it I had thought of hiring a skip but realised I did not have the strength to lift and carry it all by myself. I still need to do a bit of sweeping up and tidying but things look a lot better already.

I was so pleased with what had been done I found the number of a local handyman and will phone next week and see if he can do a few odd jobs like fix the outside light, properly fasten the handrail on my step stool so it is safe for me and assemble a couple of sets of industrial shelving units so I can get things off the floor and maybe even look at the garage door that won't stay up once it is opened and nearly brained me!

Great news, slinky! When we had our first new tenant(a year ago) in over a decade I found gov.uk https://www.gov.uk/renting-out-a-property/landlord-responsibilities a good place to start :)

DD keeps coming down with junk from her room - all good :) And we have had a few small fleabay sales - and one huge one, which will free up loads of space in the garage when it is collected :T

Phew! Well while deciding what to pack I did a mini kondo and released a couple of garments that i shall never wear again :) I moved a couple of other items to a more logical place (ie, like with like), I tried on a summer dress that I was about to release as 'probably never going to wear' BUT although too tight atm, it will look nice by the time it is needed for wintersun :D Funny, because i was convinced it would be awful, so glad i took a moment to review.

Invoice sent. Took a while because there are lots of receipts to tot up, scan and include as attachments and my printer stopped part way through - I am pretty sure there was interference from microwave * so crossed signals on wifi :( (*DH is getting his own tea!)... Feels good to have the admin out of the way.

Right, just the picnic bag to provision and one sewing job to do and I can take a breather.

Well done to those tidying kidults Stuff into suitable locations.

Big kondo win, I nearly forgot - were we given a top of the range but old pair of binoculars. Was considering selling but realised my lovely friend may use them. Txtd her and she'd love them. I am really pleased because these are worth a 3-figure sum and I really wanted them to go to a good home :D

ETA - Siebrie, happy planning for a new job! If that is what you want I am sure you can make it happen :)
