I have to tidy today as a plumber may need to visit... But, as I've been "having a sort out", and things have not yet found their final home, well, I think I'd better concentrate on finding the kitchen surfaces and the rest can wait‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

I'm sorting through the kids' toys and crafts, and have filled half a binbag and half a box with old paper. While sorting, I'm returning toys to their proper containers and places, and moving toys from their bedroom to the play area in our living room. I know it's against kondo ethics, but the mess is driving me crazy and the girls are not doing anything. We have warned them several times that if they don't take care of their toys we will assume that they don't really like them, and will make decisions for them.
I have swapped the Little Pet Sh0p toys from the attic for the Barb1es (now in the attic, after a sort-through; many tiny old clothes have gone into the rag bag). Little one is playing with the LPS, and oldest has just bought a P1aymobi1 set with her birthday money, so both are distracted.
I've also gone through my cardigans (again): one aquacoloured fleece with a teddybear-like fabric (it had all matted) has been donated to my husband. It made me feel poor and neglected, and offered it to him with that remark, but he doesn't want to throw it away. Fine, it'll go to his part of the wardrobe and I don't have to wear it again.
I'm going to remove a duvet cover from the rag bag and try to make it into pillow cases. The top had been worn through twice, and if I mend it again it will be too short for a duvet. The body of the duvet cover is still fine, and we need more pillow cases, so I'll just give it a try.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.590 -

Oh, I wish you could have some of mine - i have SOooooo many pillowcases.
i had consigned an old duvet cover set of DS's to the ragbag (it was very worn and had been bleached by his acne cream), but then was in need of something to cover a carpet while we painted, da dah... Old duvet pressed into service...
we have finished DD's bedroom. it looks lovely, but we've discovered there's a problem with fitting the furniture in it. i have painted the triple wardrobe white, with chalk paint (that was no mean feat as it had been dark grey - 4 coats it's had, and it still isn't perfect. i am leaving it a few weeks and will give it another coat). However, she has a tall bookcase and a chest of drawers... the CofD will not fitit is 10 cm too wide
So there is a trip to Ikea planned and two smaller (in width) but taller CofD's to be bought and we will have a CofD surplus to requirements. Not sure what to do with it....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
We have returned home from our hopefully-soon-to-be-rented-out property. An enormous amount of stuff seemed to come back with us, most of it requiring washing or stashing away. Clothing, bedding, towels etc we've been using whilst there, plus decorating stuff. Amongst the things we've brought back is the winder for an awning which is above the patio doors in the new house. We've absolutely no idea if the awning works or not, we daren't try it as we didn't want to have to deal with taking it down and getting rid of it if it didn't work. Our neighbour who has lived there for nearly 30 years says she never saw the previous owner using this awning! We didn't want the tenants messing about with it. The winder was just a bit too long to fit in the large box of our stuff we have got padlocked in the garage, so it's had to come home here........madness.
We also abandoned a fire extinguisher in the garage which had been left by the vendor. It has a date of 1979 on it......... we were going to bring it home to take it to our local recycling centre, but OH was worried about it going off in the car on the way home. It will have to remain in the garage until we can deal with it another time.
The gold plated shower curtains have been safely stored in the box. I would love to sell them on ebay, but who in their right mind would actually pay decent money for them?!! The one thing they do have in their favour is they are slightly weighted at the bottom, which means that when the fan is going in the shower room, they don't get sucked in towards you as you stand in the shower. We found the replacements did slightly unless you left a bit of a gap between them, which is possible to do without it being too messy as it's a wetroom with a tanked floor.Make £2025 in 2025

VJ'smum, I had to replace CODs after buying a new bed. I have put my old ones in the spare room wardrobes. I got the hanging rails moved up and all my stuff fits nicely in the drawers.0

Hmm, that's a good idea. She doesn't actually want the triple wardrobe, it just has no-where else to go - and it would still leave her with some hanging space...
Boo - update. I doubt we'd get it in, and even if we could, she wouldn't be able to open the drawers....

Donate your old jewelry for alzheimers research. not sure if they just want gold, or if costume jewelry will also be acceptable. i have a lot of mum's old costume jewelry. She would approve it going there, i think.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
