Wow, what an experience Fortune! Glad you both got to see it this year. Excellent idea for a slate painting from SC there
Lots of good news in that post! Glad Mr F got the pay rise, and that it's being put to good use - more shelving never goes amiss... Good to hear your veg patch is producing nicely too, well done you!
Love hearing about all the things you're doing to improve your home and land
I should reassure you that plenty of funks happen in the Cheery householdI am generally quite busy, but I think I spend more time than people realise messing about on the internet like everyone else
Activity and pottering generally makes me more cheerful though, so I need to remember that...

It was spellbinding to watch. I wish I could post a video or photo that truly captured the experience so I could share it with you. But it didn't translate well in pixels. The best I can do is a grainy photo that includes me wearing dodgy tartan nightwear 😆
That's a great idea @South_coast - I'll make that my next project... once the dining room is back in one piece 😆
My black hole is television @Cheery_Daff. Once the "haunted fish tank" is on (as Mr F calls it) I get sucked in and find myself watching utter rubbish. I've watched far less during lock down though - probably because it's all so depressing 😆

Wow - what a sight! (the swallows, not the nightwear!
) We used to have swallows nesting along our roof where we lived when I was small - but only a couple of nests - how fantastic to have so many congregate right outside - bittersweet, yes - but such is life at times...

Finished!
We have decorated our dining room 😁 Neither or us like decorating so, once we finally start, we crack on and get it finished as soon as possible. I do the cutting in as I have a steady hand, an eye for detail and patience. Mr F does rollering as he has stamina and a long reach 🤣 We've been fuelled by freezer fare and cake. Somehow, Mr F has some energy left and is out cutting the grass. I am collapsed on the sofa with a cuppa. All the furniture is still in the middle of the room under dust sheets but there it can stay until I have the energy to sort it out. That might not be until Thursday now as I'll need to spend the next couple of days getting the annex ready for our next guests. I'm very pleased with the colour we've chosen. The rooms in our house are long and low ceilinged and, despite having a lot of windows, can be quite dark. The original colour of the dining room was a very pale duck egg blue and it made the place look bland and cold. We've replaced it with a rich, warm, mustard yellow and it is so much better. Just makes the rest of the house look dingy now 😆
The decorating has been an all encompassing activity so I've nothing else to report. A hot shower and a very early night may be on the cards soon.
Hope you've all had a great bank holiday.
