love the blue tit sitting on the cups. He looks like he's hoping that whoever had the tea, had cake as well and is using the cups to survey the area.

Thanks for the slate love everybody 💗
It took me far longer to finish in the Annex than it usually does. I had to wade through all that hot, thick air so it was slow work. Anyhoo, our newlyweds arrived yesterday and seem happy and appreciative of the special touches I arranged. We got a new booking yesterday for six nights in September which is fab. I was wondering whether we'd get anything more this year but it seems people are being cautious about booking too soon.
Mr F has fitted the new kitchen tap 🙂 but it is leaking a little from one of the connections so he's got to refit it today 🙁 It looks good though and it works - hoorah!
I have spent some money on new clothes. A pair of my every day jeans ripped completely across the thigh. I bought a second pair at the same time so it's only a matter of time before they go the same way. My last pairs ripped in exactly the same way and that was three years ago (I remember because it was just after we'd moved here). They were pairs I'd downgraded from going out wear so not bad considering I wear them almost every day. So, I have downgraded my current going out jeans to every day and bought three new pairs from Mark$. They don't do the old style any longer so I've bought their Magic ones which seem to be a better fit for me. I've bought one black pair, one dark blue pair and one white pair (because they were in the sale and less than half price 😎) Also picked up a couple of long-sleeved t-shirts from £bay - brand new and less than £10 each including postage. I could do with some short-sleeved t-shirts so will keep an eye out for those on £bay too. It's ages since I bought any new clothes - I generally wear stuff until it falls apart and have been dressing like a tramp during lockdown. It will be nice to feel less shabby.
We've had Courgette & Pea Tart with salad for lunch the last couple of days - made with broad beans though instead of peas as I had some to use up. That's the last of the broad beans gone now. Last night's supper was Oven-baked Ratatouille & Sausages with a baked potato. All baked in one dish so no standing over a hot stove 😅
The sheet lightening put on a good show for us again last night. The storms seems to be happening around us rather than over us which is a shame as the garden could really do with a good soaking. FDawg is scared of thunder so we've had an interrupted night getting up to him. We also turned the water off (just in case the sink tap leak worsened over night) and then had to get up to turn the saniflo in our en-suite off as the lack of water was making it turn on all the time. It'll be an early night for us tonight 🥱
Today's plan is to vacuum (not done for a couple of days as it's just too hot) and get in the garden for an hour before it reaches melting temperature. Then make a dent in Mount Ever-iron if I can stand it. I'm keeping a close eye on the weather as the boys are visiting on Saturday. It did look as though it was going to be dry but this morning the forecast is for rain. I've ordered afternoon teas from a local cafe and will set up the tables in the barn if it's wet. We can open the big garage door and the side door then to keep the air flow through.
Stay cool everybody 😎
