Hi Cheery. It's not going to be hard to keep busy here. There's so much that needs doing in the house and garden. The only constraint is that Mr F is at home all the time and spends much of the day on the telephone - I have to tiptoe around quite a bit. The other day I took him in a cup of tea and slice of cake and gave him a quick kiss on the head as I was leaving. I hadn't realised he was on a global video call with around 50 work colleaguesCheery_Daff said:Good news about your pension Fortune! And good to see you keeping busy and occupied, must be rather difficult.
We're all rather curtailed now aren't we so it'll be interesting to see how things pan out. Feeling very fortunate right now that we have a bit of outside space around us and whatever else happens, we're not feeling too shut in (not yet anyway). Keep having shivers of horror at how mad we would have gone had this all happened when we were in our old house with our shouty neighbours
Feeling very fortunate to have somewhere safe (and quiet) to live and a stable job and our health right now. xx
And I didn't even have any lippy on
There is, indeed, much to feel fortunate about - the sun is shining for a start
How long since that's happened

🤣🤣🤣 - Oh Fortune that is priceless! I suspect this will happen to many who WFH! Hope that teaches you to do your make-up properly before wandering about the houseFortune_Smiles said:...The other day I took him in a cup of tea and slice of cake and gave him a quick kiss on the head as I was leaving. Last week I had to remind OH I was on a teleconference when he hollered up the stairs asking if I wanted a cup of tea! Luckily at that point I had the phone on mute while I listened to some senior managers speak - I'm sure the top manager would have laughed and asked if she could have a cuppa too, but the one below her would have pulled me up on 'lack of professionalism'!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Ha Fortune, how funny! You probably made all those people very jealous that they didn't have someone bringing them cake

Hi FS!! Just dropping by...glad you’re chipper. Yes this WFH lark has its etiquette and pitfalls. Need to know where the mute is and to blur out the background...although me and a neighbour were just saying that it’s been hilarious seeing how senior people live. Seems that they have children interrupting, soft toys on top of cupboards and dubious artwork (taste wise!) on the walls too ....

A Good Day
Today I did lots of things I love to do - despite everything that is going on in the world, it was a good day
We spent the morning in the veg garden. Mr F did digging and mowing and I did weeding. So nice to get out in the sunshine - although the wind was bitter. Tomorrow I may even plant something
We had Lentil Chilli Fajitas for lunch. An old favourite from one of my recipe books. Then I decanted the rums I've been making for the county show plus a blackcurrant vodka that had somehow got forgotten at Christmas. Of the rums, the Spiced Roasted Pineapple has come out best so I'll use that one for the show. The coconut will go in the cupboard for making summer cocktails.
I also made a Lemon Curd & Blackcurrant Cake. I shall save a couple of slices for a gardening break tomorrow and put the rest in the freezer.
Supper was Purple Sprouting Broccoli, Leek & Almond Tart with a few roasted new potatoes and carrots.- Today I am grateful that Mr F and I make a good team
- and happy that, despite everything, we can still appreciate and enjoy life
- my moment of joy was receiving an early birthday card and gift from Mr F - he didn't want to risk it being delayed due to all the deliveries being made at the moment

Ooh, what a lovely day Fortune!
We too have had a nice day, although I didn't sleep for long enough last night and have been rather tired. Took a car load of rubbish to the tip which felt very satisfying, then drove up to a little place we often go to a cafe - it only has a few tables, all outside, but they've all need removed now and it's takeaway only - we got a cuppa and a far-too-sweet cake and sat by the canal. And we got quite a bit of house sorting done, and a thorough clean out of the chicken run.
We're not a bad team either, oddly enough the more time we spend together the better we get on, which I suppose is a good thing at the minute! 😮
Interested in your runs for the county show! Have you done that before? I am planning on having a go at something for a show at some point - never quite figured out what mind as my baking leaves rather a lot to be desired 😂 But flavoured alcohol I might be able to manage... roasted pineapple sounds intriguing!5
