PurpleFairy26 said:It's very sensible to do practical things during self isolation. Not only to keep busy but also to have a sense of achievement if we can't get out. I've got gardening (including growing some things as at least I won't have to dredge round the SM for it 😂), yoga, knitting Christmas presents and making curtains. I should also sort some boxes in the loft at some
point.I'm also making of list of activities for the smalls and have the link to the virtual museums @Cheery_Daff talks off which will be included in their list.

Working from home for the foreseeable future means a very full and hectic day but thankfully no two hour commute for which I am very grateful 😆
Also very thankful that working from home means there is an extra layer of protection for OH who has underlying health issues.😊No two hour commute is definitely something to celebrate.

Wise Up!
Not such a productive day today. Mr F had teleconference calls all day so I couldn't put the washing machine on or get the hoover out because of the noise. Also it started raining just as I was about to go out and do more gardening. I just did what I could in the end:- checked Mr F's tax on-line. HMRC seem to think he's going to be earning £2k more this year - I hope they know something we don't
- ordered lots and lots of seeds, a cold frame, an insect net tunnel, seed compost and seed trays. We have a lot of garden work to do this weekend
- made Loaded Naans for lunch and Sausages with Braised Cabbage & Caraway for supper.
I took FDawg down our lane for a little walk this afternoon. Saw one of my closest neighbours in his car. He stopped to say that he and his wife are self-isolating a bitThey are both over 70 and he has underlying health problems. Their son-in-law and grand-daughter think they have the virus and he was on his way to the barber
Although he was only going to go in if there wasn't a queue
Insert head banging against the wall smiley here.
On a more positive note, lots of our local shops and restaurants are starting delivery services. Mr F is especially pleased as our local brewery is also happy to deliver to the front door- Today I am grateful that I have a regular veg box delivery. Riv£rf0rd are overwhelmed with orders right now but are honouring all existing orders first
- I am happy that I'm going to be able to continue with yoga at home
- the postie bought me joy today by delivering my paint tester pots.
Night, night everyone

That sounds like a fun weekend in the garden Fortune! Sadly we don't have a lot of space (unless I go all Tom and Barbara and tear up the terrible front lawn (which really wouldn't be a problem as it doesn't get seen by many as it's on a dead-end footpath), so I've limited myself to some spring onion seeds for now. Until our May holiday is definitely cancelled, I'm loathe to spend too much in case we do end up going (last of the optimists, me!).
 to your neighbour (do you know what, MSE could make this crisis so much better by giving us back our old emojis!). I'm not surprised though - my Niece had a cough and was back at nursery the following day. I'm avoiding talking to my sister at the moment as I don't think I could be too polite.
Great gratitudes - especially the Riverford box. I'm due my delivery today and am very grateful it's coming, even as I feel for those they've had to cancel on.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

My sister is a nurse and she says a lot of people are just not getting it. They have a 'if I get it, I get it' attitude. She says she feels like shouting "IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU" at them. I think people will only start to take things more seriously when the numbers go up.
Yes, Riv£rford are brilliant. Looking forward to my box this week.

Staying in is the new going out
A wet and miserable day in the Shire today. I have mainly been tinkering with my on-line food order. Items keep disappearing from my basket and they don't get replaced with anything. So if I order organic red onions but they become out of stock I have to go in and replace them with non-organic red onions manually. Usually this only happens occasionally but, at the moment, it's non-stop. Goodness knows what's going to turn up tomorrow. Looking at all the empty shelves on television I'll be grateful for anything.
I made Versatile Vegetable Soup for lunch today to use up some odds and ends in the fridge. Supper was the leftover sausages and mash from yesterday. I also made some Fruit & Nut Granola to keep in the cupboard.
Apart from a bit of general house tidying and veg patch plotting, the rest of the day was spent making and taking calls from friends and familyMr F kept himself busy by ordering beer from our local brewery who are now delivering. He said it was particularly important to support local businesses at the moment... particularly the beer making variety
- Today I am grateful that I can afford to stock my cupboards
- I'm happy that friends and family are thinking of me and staying in contact
- my moment of joy came on this morning's dog walk when I saw our returning lapwing for the first time this year, soaring and calling over the ploughed field by our lane.
Hope all is well with you guys

Fingers crossed for you delivery tomorrow Fortune!
Ours is not until Friday so we are creatively eating from the freezer & stores! OH is craving cheese - should I plan in the frozen camembert I found today or make him wait until Friday when the cheap and cheerful stuff is supposed to show up?😅
Brunch today was a bowl of noodles with the last bits of chicken roast and some shredded cabbage. Dinner was a freezer dive which resulted in chicken pot pie with roasted root veg. OH proclaimed it one of the best dinners he'd had in a while. Didn't have the heart to remind him he did the original cooking!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
