Ah that explains it...I clearly have forgotten what that is like:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Clearly we all have!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I took candles on my long business trip in March, but simply because the Airbee'nbee was open plan & I wanted to make sure that cooking smells were dispatched of quickly. (they got burned on a saucer btw) OH was with me on said trip, but we'd never have thought of candles being an aid to romance!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Have a lovely weekend
Thank you Beanie - you too.Ah that explains it...I clearly have forgotten what that is like:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::eek: to the candles and lack of cleaning! Hope this weekend's guests are better behaved (if only you could advertise for NT/WI/Ramblers types only!
We've never had cardoons, I think because they aren't grown at the farm near us. Not sure I'd have a clue what to do with them if we did! I do think they look lovely though.
If only Madvix. I was right about them - they are NT Members :rotfl:

I am phobic about candles RT - we have wooden beams, wooden floors, wooden everything. We could go up in flames so easily. I wish my guests had used a saucer - at least the dressing table would have been saved
Having said that, I hope true love has bloomed because for that I would gladly make the sacrifice

We made it to the beach today and had a lovely time. It was FDawg's first visit to the seaside and it made him soooo happy. I've never seen him so full of joy
He was a bit reactive with the other dogs to start with but was making friends by the end of the day.
We had some lunch in the local pub. Despite having some good reviews on line it was mediocre and we won't be eating there again. My food was luke warm and both meals had obviously been microwavedI would have complained but it was just too difficult to get anyone's attention. We booked a table when we got there just in case it was due to be busy and they charged a £10 deposit. Then they didn't deduct it from the final bill  Mr F paid so I didn't notice until we got home. I'll phone tomorrow and if they repay us then at least the meals were cheap.
We made up for a poor lunch with some excellent ice cream which we ate whilst strolling along the coastal walk. Rhubarb and Custard flavour for me and Blackcurrant and Liquorice for Mr F
We saw lots of bird life including some Little Egrets building a nest
We took the scenic route there and back so we could explore a little more of the area. The new, new car is proving to be surprisingly economical
The costs for the day will be met from the fun money. Mr F is away for a couple of weeks in May so we may not get the chance to have any more fun this month. I may pinch a little of what's left to have some fun shopping in the garden centre tomorrow :rotfl:
We bumped into our paying guests when we got back and they had just got back from exploring a NT property - I knew it :rotfl: They apologised as they'd dropped a mug and broken it. But they had bought two new ones to replace it as it was one of a matching pairI haven't put anything in the Annex that we couldn't stand/afford to lose but I'm so pleased that they told us about it. And it's lovely that they went to the trouble to put things right. They have restored my faith
I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend. And it's not over yet - there's still another day to go

They had lots of interesting flavours INOD. It was very difficult to choose just one.brizzlegirl wrote: »Lovely to have you back posting...and love the news on the visitors...if only they knew :rotfl:
Ahh thanks Brizzle. I did give my latest visitors a glowing review and told them they were my ideal guests

... I cooked the Cardoons!
And most delicious they were too. I used this recipe as a base but cooked it without the topping for 20 minutes. Then added some skinless cod fillets and the topping for the final 20 minutes. Also halved the measures as I only had 350g of cardoons. Both Mr F and I really enjoyed it. Preparing them was a bit of a faff until I got into a groove and found the right knife for the job. And the dish was a bit beige so I'd probably serve with some carrots and peas if I make it again. I'd happily cook them again and will have a go at growing them if I can find a spot big enough.
Lunch was a more mundane Caldo Verde to use up potatoes (which I seem to have accumulated) and the spring greens from this week's veg box.
Today has been spent tidying and getting Mr F ready for his business trip tomorrow. And no money has been spent
It's an early start in the morning so an early night tonight.
Sleep tight.

Today I have mostly been eating frogs :rotfl:
I finally managed to get through to the pub that overcharged us. After leaving 3 messages on their answering machine without a response I thought I'd try a message through their FB page. Result! Got an answer within minutes and a call this afternoon to process the refundJust need to check it goes back onto the credit card.
Sent a formal request for a refund under the Consumer Rights Act to the gate company. The quality is way below what we expected for the money. I've left messages for the company to contact me over the last couple of weeks and had no response so they've left me with no choice. You only have a 30 day automatic right to a refund so I've had to act quickly. I'm not expecting a response but they have 14 days to get back to me.
Cashed out some TCB money :T
Today has been an NSD but yesterday I joined some friends for coffee and a scone after yoga. Also picked up a new book as I had a book token to put towards the costs from doing surveys. Spent around £10 including parking.
With Mr F away this week I'll be able to manage without a big shop so overall I'm feeling very virtuous :A
Happy hump day all
