The first working day of the year and it feels sooooo good to get back to some structure and normality. I've noticed that we're all being very disciplined with posting at the moment - do you think that will be a bit like gym membership in January :rotfl: No, we're all too committed and determined for that aren't we
I've got off to a good start with my 2019 goals:
HEALTH- I've already paid a deposit for next term's yoga sessions and the dates are in my diary
- Mr F and I walked FDawg together yesterday and this morning
- no added sugar so far this year
WEALTH- the big news is that I made the first mortgage overpayment of the year today and this means we've reached two milestones: we are now into the teens and have paid off 10% of the total :j:j:j
- we have told the garage we will buy the car subject to getting the finance and I've just submitted a loan application
- operation 'Leftovers' continues. We had apple and date porridge for breakfast to use up some of the dates we didn't eat and milk which we seem to have rather a lot of for some reason. I bought a Butternut Squash for making soup over Christmas but we didn't use it. I'd ordered an standard size one but got an extra large as a substitution so there's plenty there for two recipes. I also bought lots of red chilies as we had curries on Boxing Day and one of our party likes his curry very hot. Rather than inflict that on everybody his wife suggested I get some hot chilies and serve them on the side but when it came to it, he declined them. I bought two packets! I also forgot to add coriander to two of the curries I made
So lunch today was Butternut Squash Soup with added coriander :rotfl: It was lovely and there's plenty left over for another day. Tonight we'll have Courgette Carbonara to use up a courgette which has somehow remained at the bottom of the fridge undiscovered since before Christmas :rotfl:
- I've started to set up a neighbours group for some girlie nights out. Just need to get two more email addresses. There is a sing-along film showing at our local cinema in February so I think that could be an inaugural meeting
- Mr F and I have planned this weekend at home. He'll carry on with the fencing and I shall either chalk paint the table I bought for the annex or make preserves to use up more leftovers :rotfl:
Go me!
Mr F is going to bring the boxes in from the barn later so I can start taking the Christmas decorations downNot looking forward to that job.
Thank you everyone for your support with my goals. I hope yours are off to a good start too.

Well done Fortune! You have been amazingly driven, but then again you always are!!!
I've been woefully unproductive (according to me) and embarrassingly productive (according to OH) - my holiday has comprised of doing a whole lot of chores in the AM & then getting lost in the endless maze of the internet in the afternoons!
Can't wait until next week when I'm back at work & have structure & routine!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I started taking the Christmas decorations down today. It's not taking as long as I feared. However, the cardboard boxes I use for storing them have not survived Mr F's stacking technique  To be fair, they really need to be kept in something a bit more robust so I have invested in some storage boxes today. This seems a more cost effective option than having to replace anything that gets broken. Plus a lot of my decorations are precious and I'd be upset if they got damaged.
Operation 'Leftovers' decluttered two egg whites, half a pack of mushrooms, some salami and prosciutto. Mr F polished off the very last slice of Christmas cakeI also returned some marshmallows to lodger friend as we didn't use them. The fridge and worktops are starting to look clearer
Tonight was the last night of my writing course but I've given it a miss. Mr F is away for work and this is the first evening I've had to myself for weeks. I can pick up anything I've missed from a friend but suspect that it won't be much.
Off to bed soon so nighty night all

Thanks Cheery. I think the rest of the year will depend on how much debt we end up with following the car purchase. I have my fingers crossed it won't be much as I would really like to get chickens this year.
