I have been using my 'inclusive' auction listings with my shop alongside which I have been really trying to shift some personal stuff via my private account and as I don't really know what some of the stuff I have lying around is worth I chose auction format for those as well.
I am aware of the high incidence of non payers but am surprised at the amount of non paying buyers with very high feedback in the US - is this normal? I have a case about to close today from a buyer with excellent feedback (less than 50 but good) and excellent feedback left for sellers as well. This afternoon another case will be opened, this time the US buyer has 3000+ feedback, and then again this evening another US buyer with several hundred feedback will have a case open. I have the automatic system set up so cases are open on day 4, I send an invoice as soon as auction ends (or when I next go online if I'm not around) and I always re send invoice on day 3 just to jog their memory.
Is there currently an issue with the US of which I am not aware or is this just another of the strange ebay patterns I have noticed before?

I've not sold there for a while but I do remember being surprised that US sellers with high feedback would often pay quite late and be quite nonchalant about it. If you can still send reminders before opening a case then try one or two of those first..0

They always get an invoice followed by a second one on day 3 with a short note saying I was hoping to post item quickly. I never ask whether they have changed their mind or need more time to pay as I don't think I'd like any of the possible answers.
The one closing shortly is on day 8 and the one opening this afternoon is on day 4 with no contact at al.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Are you using Global Shipping? Costs are very high for buyers, and it puts people off. Could be the reason...?
These current three are all ones I am shipping myself using International Post (small items under 100g) I tend to use the GSP for larger bulkier items only and don't seem to have as many issues with the US , but then most of the GSP items are BIN with immediate payment so I can't really compare them as of course the first I know is when I receive payment and the ebay hub address but can see the buyer is in the US.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. A further update, 2 out of 3 open US cases have been closed with no payment, one paid and I have shipped item. I now have another NPB case open (day 6 so far, opened on day 5) , again buyer has good feedback- this time it was for a sale on Ebay.com and has inclusive US postage.
I am considering no longer accepting Best offers from US buyers, nor allowing them to bid on auctions. If I stick purely to BIN with immediate payment I can avoid all this hassle. I have already declined a Best offer from a US buyer, made yesterday, which is a shame as I would have liked to get rid of the item.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I will be relisting at a lower price if this BIN goes unsold, but cannot of course send anything to a potential buyer without risking my account , I'm just hoping it is in the buyers watch list so a price drop will trigger them buying. I'm also going to remove Best Offer.
As no one else is reporting issues with US buyers it looks like I'm just unlucky, or perhaps I can work up a good conspiracy theory to explain why I am being targetted like this. :rotfl:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It must be...
My current NPB is still open(only day 2 now though), I have also temporarily removed the US from my auctions on the smaller stuff that I don't use GSP for .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Its odd that some US buyers moan that the postage is very high when shipping from the UK. Yet fail to take into consideration that buying from the US is WORSE.
I wanted an item the size of an old original mars bar. In the UK it was £80. But in the US its under $60, and as little as $30 in the sales.
Thought even with some customs i could save money. US sellers on the other hand think that $60 shipping was reasonable on a $35 item.
How much is the postage in the US???Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
