TA, bets wishes for MrTA's op.
Judi, I hope you get news soon.
JackieO - I read your comment yesterday about wanting great grandchildren. Chance would be a fine thing for me, I haven't got any grandchildren yet. I haven't really been bothered and would have been happy if it was their choice but now I know both DD and DS plan to have children it's somehow made me impatient. I know DD is hoping to get pregnant at the moment and is suffering the usual disappointments which makes it worse, she is 34 and DS and his wife are 31 so they need to get a move on. Oh well, che sera and all that. It's quite nice to be able to admit all this on here where no-one I know IRL reads.0 -
Thinking of you Mr TA. i hope all goes well today.

Snoozer fingers crossed honey My oldest friend had a difficult time when her eldest son's marriage broke down a few years ago and the ex=wife was quite adamant that she couldn't see the dgd's It broke her heart and she got so unhappy for about 18 months ,then out of the blue the ex decided that she was enjoying her single life and was suddenly quite happy to off load the girls to their dad at weekends so she could go out clubbing .meanwhile he too had moved on and found a new lady who is lovely and they married and had a little girl a couple of years ago.My friends DD 's biological clock was ticking loudly and she just hadn't found Mr Right (several Mr Wrongs though)and she had a huge bonus from her job which she decided to try for IVF in America .well it worked very well and she now has a set of twins and so from suddenly having no access to her two grandchildren my friend has now five ,two teenagers and a set of twins and a two year old .I can remember her being so sad because of what happened but I am so pleased that she now has lots to enjoy in her retirement. My tribe are all growing up so fast and I have my fingers crossed to have at least one little one to spoil before I shuffle off this mortal coil
:)
I am a great believer in karma, and if its meant to be then it will happen.
been a really busy morning this morning made my blancmange and a jelly plus washed the kitchen floor and the bathroom and cleaned all the units down as well. my kitchen is smelling very nice at the moment I have a small wash done and hanging on the line and I'm just about to make some scones and a cake and its not even lunchtime yetNo doubt I shall flag after lunch but I can put my feet up and have a 'nanny nap' whilst watching something mindless on TV.
Speky NOOOOOOO far too early to mention the 'C' word ,although I have been keeping an eye out for small bits to go into the shoe boxes I make up for local charities. Plus I have a pattern my friend gave me to knit some mitten and use up some of the odds and ends of wool in my stash,
Right time for a cuppa methinks then a bit of baking until lunchtime
Very warm and humid here in Kent, have a good afternoon chums
JackieO xxx
P.S. good luck for Mr TA's op. and fingers crossed for you Judi xxx0 -
Good afternoon everyone, thanks to Judi for starting the thread and hugs to anyone that needs one,
TA - I hope Mr TA's op goes well.
The weather is definitely on the turn, still very warm but windy and very grey. My younger son drives back from Cardiff today so I'm hoping he misses any stormy weather.
If it stays dry I'll try and get a bit more done in the garden and if it rains I really should do some ironing, a chore I really abhor!
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Afternoon all,
Not sure what I did wrong last week but had no WiFi for 10 whole days.......was going mad, but all is well again since yesterday. Consequently I am totally out of date with what has been going on in everybody's lives.....so hugs and positive vibes where appropriate.
We were promised thunder storms and very heavy rain, so I didnt water the garden last night.....we had one shower so far, will have to do it later if there is no more rain this afternoon.
Nine week from today until DD3 and family come home from Australia, I really need to declutter big time so that we can fit them in!
OH and I have had a big lunch from yesterdays left overs.......pork, potatoes and veg with a large salad......will cook something else for DD1, maybe some kind of bean stew/soup which can simmer until she wants to eat.
DDs twins are 2 on Friday, they are such cute little girls......they are now demanding a pottie when they need the toilet......not always in time, but getting there, which will be a big reduction in her weekly spend!
I hope that today is a good one for everybody, thank you all for being my friends.

PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE....NO mention of the C word...it's only July and I am no fan of that time of year!
Hope everyone is well and having a good dayx

My daughter in South Africa has just sent me some pictures and posted a link of what she has been doing today. If any of you are interested. Here is a link.

Hello all from overcast Wiltshire.
I wasn't going to post this week but I have had some bad news.
We had a phone call last night from a distraught DD. Her lovely Rafa pup has died, he was only 16 weeks old. DD and DGS took him for a walk after tea yesterday and then he was playing with DGS in the garden, he suddenly keeled over, frothing at the mouth and died in SIL's arms. They took him to the vet this morning and he had suffered a heart attack, it appears that the breed is prone to heart defects and he was a walking time bomb. According to the vet it was instantaneous and he wouldn't have felt anything. However DD and DGS are devastated and everyone is shocked as he seemed so healthy.
Sorry to bring the thread down.
R.I.P. Rafa pup
Hugs to anyone who needs or wants one.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
