Seems the OP is now recovered enough to come on here and try and blame the banks <shakes head>0

Another poster told us recently about their problems with mental health and debt. I and others felt sympathy and suitable advice was given.
However, you come across as a chancer, who lied to get what you wanted and now expects it all to be written off.
No sympathy here, I'm afraid.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0 -
The best way forward is to set up a payment plan. Medical conditions are not disclosed to banks so they would not know about this.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I think you all are discarding how bad my mental health is tbh you have stuck up for the bank with no knowledge of me and claimed I also could be lying this is unjustified and untrue , you have no idea what my mental health state is and basically have completely written it off, banks should do checks before throwing 5k at u and I firmly stand by they shouldn't have given it to me in the first place
there wasn't even a salary going into the account
and also to claim my severe lack of punctuation shows that your probably a stuck up rich kid with no problems at all0 -

I'm going to answer this a little bit backwards so bear with me.
First, I can't speak for any others but I am no "Stuck up rich kid".
My parents divorced when I was 6/7, I was brought up by my dad on his own because my mum had severe mental health breakdowns at that time. My dad didn't have a job until I was at least 18 when I moved out and thus I know just what debt, poverty and mental health can do to a family.
That being said, and while susceptible to the same as my mum, I have always tried to be responsible with money, and now I'm a parent am proud to say I'm debt free and living within my means.
I could easily have done the same as you, and claimed the same, but I haven't and will never do so. If your mental health was such a large factor, you can get a doctors report stating that you were not in a fit state of mine to make any statements to a financial institution.
However again, the banks cannot, are frankly should never be allowed access to your medical history. if you'd asked them for a loan, and signed paperwork with falsified details, that, along with the standard credit checks are all they have to go on.
They do not know about your mental health, and thus, you cannot claim that because of this that the credit shouldn't have been offered.
Again, if your mental health was in such a state, get a doctor to say so. If you can't/don't, the debt is valid and it wont be written off, especially in the light of fraudulent activity. You can, and still should contact the bank involved and state your case, openly and honestly, as they still have an obligation to help those with mental health issues, but they're not to blame for your borrowing.

Hopefully your credit history and missed payments will now mean that other lenders will not lend to you if you apply to avoid this happening again0 -
Let's face it, you're the type of person who isn't going to pay it off anyway so don't act like the victim.0
