I'm wondering how good a weather guru \dave King is ivyleaf . Elona may be able to let us know on that . I've never heard of him . I favour Tomaz on the BBC wh's pretty adorable and does the most amazing pencil art work in his off duty time .
I've been in some Ikea shops in other areas of the uk which you can make short cuts in through the sales floor . Our nearest is the 1st one Warrington and you can't short cut in any way . Floss and I had a discussion on this a while ago . DD panics if she can't see an obvious exit and I feel ours is a risk in case of fire . The sales area is up an escalator . It may have altered now I gave up making the long journey a few years ago . Whether it's because it's the first opened and later ones were better laid out I don't know .

Pollyanna you CAN shortcut at Warrington - I did it a few weeks ago. It isn't as easy as it used to be, but if you ask one of the staff they will point you through the quickest route.

Sorry to report an epic fail fencers.... again ! Followed Monna's instructions for the scones to the letter and they're quite flat. No doubt the squirrels will enjoy them....... they'll eat anything :rotfl:.
Me thinks I'll stick to cake baking . Hockey anyone ?

Can I pick your brains?
I'm trying to sort out my breakfasts. At the minute I alternate between porridge one day and avocado, bacon and mushrooms the next. I'd like to get rid of the bacon:cool: so I thought avocado and scrambled eggs with a bit of spinich. The only problem is I don't know how to make scrambled egg any way other than in a pan with butter
Would scrambled egg taste OK with EVOO or is there a way of doing it without any fat at all?0 -
That's great news Lynn, have you found anywhere yet?
Well done on surviving ivyleaf, not sure I would have gone back in!
Things are getting back to normal here, schools are open again and the main roads are clear. We still had a lot of children absent today, the parents thought it was too dangerous to walk to school. Some just used it as an excuse to have another day at home. I do wish parents would realise that their laziness shows their children that there's no need to be bothered about anything.0 -
fuddle - I just use a couple of sprays of the low cal cooking oil to coat the pan, the egg doesn't stick as long as you keep it moving. I use a small ceramic frying pan. If I do put any milk in it's almond, tastes just fine.0

Fuddle - I scramble mine in the microwave. Just put the beaten egg in a bowl with a drop of milk if you like and cook for about 1min 30 sec - it will start to cook round the edge so take it out and beat it and pop back for increments of 10 secs or so beating in between. They're done when they're still quite moist as they will carry on cooking in their own heat
Sounds complicated but it's really quick and easy.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

I microwave my scrambled eggs..uses less electric than on the hob.
I whisk up the eggs with a fork, a turn of sea salt and black pepper..in the microwave for a few seconds, fork up again..rinse and repeat till done to your liking. HTH
