I examined the little plum tree I planted last Spring - lots of promising new growth. Looking forward to getting a plum or two this year! One life - your life - live it!0

Finished pruning the Wisteria with DH - he did he top from the ladder and I cleared up. As it was dry I pottered giving the fruit trees a feed, all the camellias and rhododendrons (in tubs) had a feed too. Had a walk round the 'estate' and mentally totted up how much needs doing after the winter and like you Islandmaid have decided I really need to spend some serious time in the garden. Here's hoping for a decent 2018!!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

So glad to hear from you burtha. Crumbs, when you say busy, you really mean busy don't you? As long as you are looking after yourself as well.
Do you mean to say that 3mw isn't involving himself in finding the right college for your DD? What a surprise.
It will be a good thing to get things sorted out legally and will pray that things are done fairly and that you and the children get what you deserve.
Usual bossy orders. Take care of yourself, you won't be doing yourself or your family any favours by running yourself into the ground. I know it's hard when there is a lot to be done and people to be looked after, but you need looking after too, and when there is no one else to do it you have to do it for yourself. Ask any single parent.
Please come and vent to us when you need to. We do really care..I believe that friends are quiet angels

Do hope your solicitor is going after 3mw for your costs Burtha - you have more than enough on your plate!
As Monna rightly says - make sure you look after you too otherwise you will be no use to anyone!!! HugsSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Burtha please stop & hug that tiny one now & again, won't you?! Fingers crossed for good college, a positive court result & financial settlement and for you & your family's health & wellbeing xx2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

How cheering! I really love celandines
burtha So glad to hear from you! I hope you and DD find just the right college for her. Many congrats on the new grandchild :j but try to find yourself some me-time too xx0 -
Burtha congrats on the new grandson :j. As others say, please be kind to yourself too. Good to hear from you. Hope 3mw gets his comeuppance soon.
It's been a miserable day here, had to put the lights on mid afternoon as it was so dark. Another one who will be happy to see Spring as it's just grey everyday lately.
Anyone "seen" Karcher ? She's also missing from the Daily thread. I hope she's OK.
Hugs to everyone.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Morning all,
Burtha, it is so nice to hear from you and about the new grandson. You're a real amazon woman (in the old fashioned sense of an elite warrior, not in the modern sense!)
Well, we had our first bank meeting yesterday. We were shocked by how much the bank would be prepared to lend us (not that we have nearly enough deposit for that, nor would we feel comfortable taking on that much debt). It does mean that we've decided to go nearer the top of what we think we'd like to spend, which means another few months of savings before we start looking, but it also means we'll get a garden. Plenty of time for us to do some research about the local market and get to grips with comparing mortgage deals.
I think we both now understand so many other things--it was an eye opener when we bought the car to see how many cars on the road must really not be paid for and now to see that many people must also have huge mortgage payments as well to be able to afford their lifestyles. I make no judgement on them, everyone makes the decisions that are right for them, but I think it made both of us realize that the reason our money seems not to go as far isn't that we're somehow extravagant, it is just that we aren't using debt and credit in the same way.
The cold seems to be easing now, although a bit is sitting on my chest. I'll do some chores today but otherwise take it easy and hopefully shift it before next week. It really is time for it to get the boot!
Hugs to all who need them.x0
