Low carb dieting even pre-dates Elizabeth Craig. It was discovered by an ear, nose and throat specialist in the mid-19th century. He devised the diet and offered it to William Banting, a carpenter and undertaker who was very overweight and had tried every remedy on offer at the time with no results whatsoever. It was so successful that in 1863 he wrote a booklet on the diet and distributed it. It was so popular, and successful, that from then until the early 20th century dieting was known as Banting.

I bet you're sorry you mentioned it.

Fuddle, well done you. I think you will not be able to leave it to the surgery to inform you of developments. You will probably have to wait 2 weeks and then take matters into your own hands and ring them, and ring them, and ring them until you get a satisfactory outcome.
I agree with whoever said that doctor's surgeries are hotbeds of infection. I avoid them as much as possible.
I hope dd2 has a better time at school this year.

Fuddle my flu jab reminder email came into my inbox on 1 September from my gp - i had the pneummo one a couple of years ago with my flu jab as I have asthma. Just out of curiosity what is your local CCG view on pneummo jabs? ;)

Keep hounding them fuddle, we'll have a party when you actually get the jab!

Definitely a change in the weather here although we've hardly had any summer at all. I was cozy enough in bed last night but was cold when I got up and it was so dark!

We've been back at school for 3 weeks already and it's nice to be all settled in when English schools are just getting organised for their new school year.

I love my little Be-Ro book, I think I bought it from the advert on the flour bags, would this be right? I have a very old 'Complete Home Cookery Book' that was my Mums although I'm not sure where she got it from as it has 'Miss Matthews, Jan 21st 1938' written in the front, not sure who Miss Matthews was. Some of the recipes are really interesting but not so suited to today's living!

I'm really worried about Karcher. She was very low when she last posted and has been quiet as far as I can tell since then.
I wouldn't want her to feel hounded, sometimes the only way you can carry on is to retreat into your shell, but if anyone knows , through any medium, how she is could they please let us know that she is OKish.

Monna I've been wondering about her too . Sometimes a bit of a step back happens after feeling so upset and time is needed to process thoughts . On the threads many we'll never meet do become a friend online and we care and worry along with sharing the ups downs and at times hilarious times .
There are many I hold in my thoughts WCS , McC and Ginny are just a few of them . Meanwhile she will come back if she wants to . We all have breaks in posting for various reasons .
Which reminds me where is Mar hiding , I worry when she's a wee bit quiet it often precedes strange activity so lock up anything in any way edible even the hens , garden birds etc .

I often wonder how old friends are doing as well. But I know life gets in the way, and I know when I get tired I can't be bothered to talk on here - I still listen though.
We can light a candle and send thoughts out to all missing friends, send loving healing vibes. They will still get them whether they know we're sending or not.
I will have you know Miss Pollyanna that I would never eat garden birds! The very thought!!
.................and they take so very long to do, takes about 14 to a slice of toast.. quicker just slapping some jam on it. ;)

    Hi
Fuddle I would ring up weekly to see when they have it back in stock ....

Kids back to school today , so far so good ....
Ex called around to 2 mins tonight ... kids made other plans for last night so didn't see him...
He then call in on dgc :eek:k... he has seen her twice since the split .... he lasted 5 mins there as well ... dd said his coments about the kids tonight were " the kids were busy talking to there friends online , so didn't really want to talk to him "
Wonder if the penny will drop soon ....
And he may call in at the end of the week ......pillick

Dd didn't get the results they wanted at the hospital , not good news , so more tests on them now and depending on results will / could impact on all of us... 4 week wait ...

Wish someone would give us a break ,this year's rubbish...

so up till then I keep running, ... running through the woods is therapy in itself, 4 miles yesterday and today ...
Ran tonight then ended up with dgc here ....daddy decided to knock a wall down in the house , so a bit messy ... she loved it .... looked like she had been up the chimney ....
So bathed and returned , after hot milk and biscuits ..and lots of nursery rhymes ...

I have heard the phrase of "give someone enough rope"
but this guy is beyond that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More like "when you are in a hole stop shovelling!"

This one is hiring his own digger!
