Weak/no signal with new TV

Options
I've bought a Samsung Serif TV for the bedroom. I was setting it up this afternoon and but having some issues.

God knows what arieal cable they've given me but it doesn't fit the bedroom socket. Anyway I got the cable from the main TV in the living room and set the TV up. Thing is it keeps saying "weak/no signal" when tuning. Took it into the living room and although it did get channels they kept breaking up. My current living room TV a 65" 4K LG OLED is fine with the signal. The Serif is HD.... I'm stumped.
Anyone got any ideas?

I've taken the faceplate off the wall and the connection there appears to be as it should be. Frustrating or what!

Is the bedroom socket actually connected to an aerial. I know you said it looks OK but sometimes they get cut off in the loft. Have you run a TV from that socket before?

Given you don't have the knowledge call in a TV aerial fitter to come have a look. It might be that you have an amplifier in the loft that has packed up.

Actually thinking along those lines it could be the TV powers an amp in the loft so get another TV antenna cable (you're going to need one anyway), hook the LG back up then try the second TV in the bedroom again.

If the cable in the loft has got cut its just a case of making up a patch lead which is a couple of quid in parts and a 5 minute job.

Worst case is the guy puts up a second antenna and runs a cable straight to the bedroom which would be my preferred solution as amplifier distribution systems tend to amplify interference as well.

Let's find out what's actually wrong. You've got an unknown TV, and an unknown socket. Move the Samsung down to the living room, and plug it into the aerial outlet which you know is good.
Now you should be able to tune it in.
If you can, the aerial socket in the bedroom needs looked at.
If you can't, the TV's faulty.

They have done, sixth sentence in their post. Picture broke up. As I stated that doesn't necessarily mean there is a fault if the LG is set up to power an amplifier/distributor.

Ah, sorry, missed this. If the other TV gets all the channels perfectly, you've done a factory reset on the new one, then a retune, and you still get channels breaking up, where the older TV does not, I'd take it back. It's either faulty or has a rubbish tuner, all other things being equal.

The new TV doesn't also have a record capability or similar, does it? (i.e. a dual tuner fed from a single source). These usually need a much stronger signal to be able to drive both internal tuners.

Our bedroom TV works fine with a little indoor "tube" aerial. Won't work for everyone, but could be worth a go.

That is for boosting a mobile signal, not a TV signal...
