Oh and why they're looking at it, can they look into fixing the 'not opening a new tab when you click on a link'. Does my head it and it's been going on for months :o

Note, when this is fixed, the chances are everyone will still need to log in once more. To test it, log in, then close your session. Then see if you need to log in a second time.

I haven't had to log in again, so far.

unfortunately it has been changed to do that intentionally - check out this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5535167

There are a lot of unhappy people about this but it looks like it's here to stay and not get fixed :(

Same here. Had to log in 4 times yesterday on the same machine using Chrome. Never had a problem before.

Exact same problem on Safari on my iPhone too. Again never a problem before.

When I saw it was happening again this morning I thought I'd check on here. Frustrating to see the MSE mods appear to be paying no attention to this thread at all which ironically is here for their benefit! :(

Main reason for my annoyance is that I really dislike the new page layout so I have to log in to get rid of it.

Happened to me on this forum and on a car forum I use.
The car forum advice i had which worked was -
    • Delete your bookmarks/favourite link
    • Go to google to search for the site again
    • Favourite/bookmark the site again

Has worked for me on the car forum, I've just done that for this forum and has worked once so far.
On this forum i only had the main site bookmarked, i then click the forum link via the main site, so i deleted the main site bookmark.

The same thing is happening to me, I thought I was going mad! It seems to be when I either leave the site or close Firefox.

Nope - still not working. I had this yesterday and still now. (Chrome browser on both Win 7 and Win 10). Closing the MSE forum tab is OK; closing the browser causes the login issue.

And yes ... I am ticking the Remember box. ;)
