  • Afternoon,

Sorry that I have been AWOL, had a lot to sort in the background and in my head.

February although not a total wash out, could do with some improvement or March will end up the same way. I slipped with a lot of things but it could've been worse...adapt, learn and move on.

Need to sort the finances out this weekend and figure out where we are and what we owe, so I get a good idea of what I can sort where.

HMRC b*ggered up my tax code again but mainly due to the agency not taking tax off me. New coding notice to be issued and my tax code has gone down again because of the farce. The sooner this company takes me on and I'm settled the better!!!

Work on site is picking up, so that's good, we are still on track to possibly be here for two years :j :D

I have done the meal plan for March and already had to move something about because I'd run out of something that I thought I had plenty of **rolls eyes** (wish they'd bring back that emoji)

Waiting for 20p to clear on PA so I can cash out, I think one of my referrals is also cashing out, so I may get something from that too.

Mother's day flowers ordered via Quidco for the mums, only £1.88 cash back but I'm not complaining, Home Insurance is due for renewal too, so I will sort that too via Quidco and hopefully get something back on that too.
  • Sounds like you are back on track purplemum. It is a long journey so we all have ups ad downs. You are back fighting and that is the main thing :)
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

    Emergency fund 100/1000
    Buffer fund 0/100
    Debt Free (again) 25/072025

Thanks lovely, I gave myself a long talking to and sternly told myself to stop wallowing and get a shift on.
  • Afternoon,

Round up of where we are with the debt figures.

Made a payment of £2k off the BC thanks to DH's commission payment coming through, so that is his car deposit paid off.

    Barclaycard: £6692.75
    MBNA: £6650.00
    Capital One: £ 446.79
    Overdraft: £2750.00

    Total: £16,539.54

The BC will go down a further £2k in May as I will have some money built up for it, this will cover my £2k deposit for my car.

The overdraft, although is technically part of the debt, doesn't get included as we are concentrating on the main CC's.

Currently paid £3484.42/£4000.00 target for the year, I have upped this to £7000 target for the year. This includes the increase in the debt, so should hit this if we can concentrate enough.

All looking good. Don't be too harsh on yourself look at how much you've paid off you should be proud of yourself

  • Having taken stock of everything, perhaps February wasn't as big as a disaster as I thought.

    March looks like this:
    10 AFD's - not a lot but if I achieve it, I'll be happy
16 LTW's - I lost track in February, but will make more of an effort to bring my lunch to work this month.
Stick to meal plan, I have allowed for a few 'cheat' days and some leftovers will help with the LTW's too.
Surveys - need to keep up with PA at least as this is paying off Cap 1

I have to remember that I will now be earning less due to agency not taking tax off me when they should've been. This in itself has spurred me on with the above.

Lunches to work - I have plenty of cuppa soups in my desk drawer, so I should take more sandwiches and crackers etc to have with them and will also be a nice bit of variety and technically I'd be decluttering :rotfl:

I have my birthday coming up this month too, as well as mother's day, so March should be good :D

oh that is infuriating on the tax, I thought it wasn't supposed to happen now that we have the real time reporting.

Really good progress on the payments though, nearly there at two months in is rather impressive.
