Found you! Sorry about the job, it sounds like the one closer would be better though.

Grrr to the tax code debacle, you could do without that.

Hope you've had a better day today x
  • Where does the weekend go? It's ridiculous!

We went for a walk yesterday, my idea, only our walk ended up as a 4 mile trek courtesy of DH, we did stop off at the pub on the way, it was needed, before heading home.

Dinner was pork and apple casserole, really cheap as I used pork fillet and apple sauce and left over veggies. Even some left for the freezer.

Waterloo is having an upgrade going on, so trains to London may be ok, but coming out may be a problem tonight. We'll see!

Aiming to not drink this week, I'm sure my liver could do with the break.

10 working days to go before I'm holiday. Hopefully I'll have an interview whilst I'm off too.

Bought DD's birthday presents yesterday, so she's all done now.

Hoping to get more surveys done this week too.

    Have a lovely day!

hope the trains are on your side x
  • That is crazy about HMRC. How did they make that mistake? Even if the new payroll system created a new payroll number for you then sure the old one would not have been in use?

I had an new employee hand me a P45 from their previous employer which I used to put them onto our payroll system. When I issued all P60s he came back to me to show me that it said he earned loads in that year. I couldn't figure it out why and it turned out the P45 was for a previous financial year! I don't understand why he gave me it as he was employee with a different company after that but I have learnt my lesson to always check that P45's are valid. And thankfully I got it sorted before having to submit my return to HMRC or he would have been having similiar problems.

Anyway, just thought that your work place should have checked all that too. It's a really shame that have put you on an emergency code but hopefully it is sorted really quickly and you get a rebate.
    Barclaycard: £4,217.55/£5 = 0.11% | Tesco £3,810.55/£3,770.55 = 1.05%
    Total: £8,027.80/£5 = 100%/0.06%
    Mortgage £99,692/£51,652.33 51.8%
    Car Loan: £9,217.20/7,527.38 81.67%

What a nightmare! You'd have thought that because I'm the same person that it was the same company and that I'm not actually employed twice or paid twice, they'd have stepped back and thought before this mess up.

Not too bothered about the rebate, as the £400 will wipe out the tax debt that I allegedly owe due to changing jobs multiple times last year.
  • Evening,

Had an okayish day, well as good as you can when moral is at an all time low on site.

Emailed payroll and told them about the HMRC thingy, as suspected no response  the company just doesn't respond to anything! An acknowledgment would've been nice :(

Managed to get home ok, left early as I wasn't sure what the trains would be like.

Dinner was home made lean 15 burgers and chips, not that anyone needed to know that :rotfl:

Was aiming for an AFD today however, the wine I picked up wasn't alcohol free but low alcohol so will try again tomorrow. The wine is rather nice and light though.
  • When you wake up thinking it's Friday, only to realise it's Tuesday :o I'm so in need of a break.

Had a heavy sleep last night probably because of the Horlicks, I'm sure I'll wake up on the train later.

Aiming for a no alcohol day today, I've set myself a target of 10 and I aim to beat it. DH and a colleague were talking about alcohol and she confessed she goes through 2-3 bottles a night  I though we were bad but seems we're not.

Slightly fallen off the no spending wagon, haven't made my lunch for two days running and will go over my weekly allowance this week as a result, definitely think it's due to needing time off but I can't lose focus.

I will have a serious think about things today to minimise things.

Need to check the finances too, something for this weekend I think.

  • DH has informed me his expenses this month are £328.67, so that should be in the bank next week on the Friday or the Monday after.

Hopefully DH will also get some commission this month too, so need to play about with the money then and hopefully pay more off the cards.

All in all everything looks good on paper and if I can clear the Cap One card just by surveys alone, I'll be happy as I want to keep the money I've allocated for the other two.

Need a plan for next year and how I can try and get ahead of where we are now
