Quick gender discrimination question

The next thing that will happen is that we will have stage shows aimed at children, where the leading man is played by an attractive young woman with long shapely legs and his mother/aunt or principal old woman played by an unattractive middle aged man with lots of padding and overt make-up.
Oh, I think I've just invented "pantomime"!If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
The other point is while you may pay to see lenny henry in drag for the comedy - would you be so happy if you went to see Annie at the west end and it was a random 50 year old bloke wearing the dress, jumping on beds having pillow fights with 8 year old girls and being adopted by daddy warbucks? You would probably be about as suprised and uncomfortable as a group of women would be when the same 50 year old bloke turned up at their door offering to show them crotchless knickers, naughty nurse outfits, showing them vibrators and playing games of stick the willy on the blow up man doll.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Some of the party planners also refuse to allow you to have male guests, even if you are all good friends or one of the girls so to speak0

Thought that was company policy? If not then it used to be.
I remember when my wife went to quite a few as we knew the planner and the planner stated on many occasions that she would love to do couples parties but wasn't allowed.
Edit. Found this in the T&C'sHosting a Party
You must be female and over 18 years of age to hold an Ann Summers Party. All Party guests must be female and over 18 years of age. Men are not allowed at Ann Summers Parties.0 -
You wouldn't mention that the plumber is female because that isn't pertinent to doing plumbing work; anything of a sexual nature is pertinent where the customer group is almost certain to be one gender presupposes that the hired entertainer will be of a certain gender ( which depends on the exact service provided).
Aren't the women at the AS party hiring a service, they aren't employing the party giver.
Entirely personal take on it, I really don't care if it does specify women only; then again I think there's nothing wrong for specifying men only for my job - get a bit tired of tiptoing round niceties sometimes.
Actually, you certainly can hire "women plumbers", and it is far from uncommon to see advertisements for women taxi drivers and other services. The reason being that there is a huge market of women who live on their own, or are single parents or in same sex relationships, who, for their own reasons, may prefer to employ women. My friend runs a women only private hire service. And it's perfectly lawful. They only ferry women or children, not men. And ask employees are female. If you'd meet some of the taxi drivers around, you'd know why! In the same way, some women alone at home prefer not to have random strangers knowing that and inside their home.
But I don't agree that you should be allowed to discriminate. Your arguments are making decisions for women. It should be up to a woman driver to decide whether the terms of employment are acceptable. I have "bunked" with men in situations before now, and certainly had no problem doing so. There is nothing intrinsic in your employment that says that a woman can't do it. So the choice to accept the conditions should be the same as a man's. Your client doesn't care who is behind the wheel, provided the job is done properly. Nor should you. There may be just as many men who don't like the conditions.- They simply don't apply. The same should be the case for women. If they don't like it, don't apply.0 -

The bit in bold was the only bit that actually surprised me. But I assume it's the same as the women's bus which runs locally in my town.0 -
