Morning, happy Friday
Lots of good things today
-DD2 is home today for the weekend and we have not one but two father's day meal for my OH, tonight and then Sunday
- The garden and the birds and baby birds again - this is my favourite time of the year and they all gladden my heart :heart2:
- OH has sorted out work cover while he has his op - expensive but necessary and a relief!
- Only a little thing but I've realised I was putting too much tea (and water) in the teapot, so the bag of loose leaves i bought at the end of May isn't even half used yet and our cuppas still taste good
- Refund from Severn Trent finally came :j, and not a moment too soon, as the moment I found we were getting it, I used 'it' to pay off the remaining balance on a credit card, so nice to actually have it in our account which is seems to be looking to set new records emptying itself :rotfl:0 -
Good Morning
Yesterday
1. Gardeners World Live! My group were wonderful! Although they did not win the competition, I am not bitter, or competitive,as people know........we have taken lots of pics to improve next year :rotfl: We did not have a lot of time there, but they enjoyed it. (For some, I know, it will be a once in a lifetime experience). We didn’t loose anyone! Bought everyone an ice cream as a treat.
2. Saw Monty Don from afar.
3. Train was full on the way there, so TA sat everyone in First Class. Some of the guys are not too stable on their feet. Disapproving looks from the residents of the carriage. I pointedly told them we were only going one stop.
4. Free goody bags on the way out of the show, including a free butter dish! Students were happy with their haul :rotfl:
5. Felt like I was going to have a migraine, spent some time outside after tea, planting up pots. Went to bed early. I have staved it off......may just have been tension from worrying about the trip out yesterday.........:rotfl:
Teacher Training day today. BoP will disapprove :rotfl:
Have a lovely day0 -
1. Had an interesting meeting at work about retaining staff as a colossal turn over in staff. People were very frank and nothing will happen as per usual.
2. I said no to overtime next Friday morning. In the past I would have agreed to do it but it is so dispiriting working that I couldn't face it.
3. We have good in the house as I went shopping and didn't spend too much.
4. Quiet evening spent some time pottering in the garden.
5. Early night and read my book.0 -
Ooh jealous House Elf love Monty.
Thursday pleasures,
High winds but no real damage, lost loads of baby apples but tree was overflowing anyways.
Tidy up of shed and spiders removed
Spent time in field with horse girlie, she is a jealous little minx and would not let me near the fence to pet other horse who had come over to say hello, literally put her body in between and made it clear I am hers, hmmm.
Fish and fennel bake with SP mash for tea, have realised a lot of my pleasures are food related, what can I say :rotfl:
New book is set in Uni City and it’s good to read about familiar streets.0 -
Seem to be getting nowhere fast today. I have an abstract to write and am doing everything but....
it's only 500 words FGS...
Pleasures for yesterday
1. yoga - not the best session, but i still love it.
2. finished my emailing marathon
3. washing dried on the line
4. low calorie day - can't call it a fast as it is 800 calories, but my weight is still dropping, just a bit more slowly but much more do-able. Had porridge made with water, home made squash, carrot and coriander soup, and veggie sausages with a spoonful of mash
5. watched an old, but new to me, crime thing on netflix, unforgotten.
Have a good day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Teacher Training day today. BoP will disapprove :rotfl:
V It kicked off then and the first arrests of the English has occurred. We still has intolerance.
4 BoPsie insisted that we watch the cricket last night and a good result for Yorkies!
3 Gots me stuff inns for a BBQ on Saturday. Got it, yellow thing ordered!
2 Nites we are on the Big Warster Train again, not from carpet town either. Me and BoPsie are getting in DC Apple of Big Mode ready for our holidays! Booking SF shortly!
If you are affected by reading the nonsense from BoP, it is your own fault!0 -
Edit. Big Warster train cancelled. GWR cannot organise a pole dance in a nunnery. Bussed it. More later.
Wobbleade has been purchased.
More wobbleade has been purchased.0 -
Evening all. A day for a wooly jumper!
Walked with the ladies this morning then came back & walked the gog & his clip clop shoes to the roundabout & back.
Skinny Minny club. Much laughter.
Eyebrows waxed. Ouch.
Into T & got just what's needed . Told son just because I'd bought two boxes of his cereal (on offer) this was not a challenge to eat them at once!
Another clip clop walk.
Made a honeycomb tiffin cake.
Nice chat with niece.
DD2 had called upset. So managed to chat till the train came then DD1 was at the other side for her. Think just all been a bit much and was overwhelmed & probably jetlagged.
Had cake for tea. Then took some boxes of cake to friends. Walked with son.
Clip cloppy dog walk again!0 -
Quick pleasures for today (Friday).
1) Hens all well. They managed to put themselves to bed last night. 3 eggs.
2) Went to work a.m and that was OK.
3) Saw parents on the way home.
4) Took smaller son to Sainsburys for tea and a few bits.
5) Picked bigger son up on our way home. He went back out again and is still out!
6) Watched Gardeners World.
7) Both roses on the right hand side of the garden are doing well. They got moved a year or so back but have recovered and have about 40 flowers on now. The rose moved when the porch was knocked down is not flowering, but is growing back from its 20cm long shoots that I left.0 -
