    I'm not sure about parking etc (and it's not generally 'cheap') but you can book rooms in Oxford colleges over the summer. It's a really unique way to experience the city. I think a lot of other universities offer the same too.

  • Snowdonia & the Lleyn Peninsula is beautiful any time of the year.
    As is the Lake District (although expensive for parking and eating out, I found).
    North Yorkshire Moors and York and the coast can be toured in a few days.

    The Lake District is nice to visit for a few days. There are lots of things to do and different places of accommodation you could stay in such as log cabin, hotel or caravan. If you like nature, wildlife and doing things outdoors then I definitely suggest going here. If you do however prefer a city break, I suggest Durham. I went last year for the first time and I loved it. There is plenty to do and a lot of nice restaurants to go eat in. It isn't overly expensive either.
