Made my CBA mind up for dinner. It was a "fish fingers that must be eaten" sandwich, 4 gone. Then slice of bread with yesterday's HM jam

Turned out it was good idea gradually clearing out the freezer, had a call from the ex, her freezer has started smoking. Luckily I now have over 1 1/2 empty drawers spare. Handy, especially as I have no idea what to put in there for the moment

Still got the yukky quiche, I can see that going in the bin much as I dislike chucking food out I just can't face cold, slightly singed, LO, dried out quiche. It would be the sort of thing to eat after a very good night out down the pub

  • Today I've somehow managed to get through without eating. Don't quite know how that happened, although much coffee was consumed. Helped a marina neighbour take delivery of a new fridge, which we needed to manoeuvre through a window and into place, then play with the spirit level to get it vaguely level. Spirit levels and boats are strange bedfellows...

I've got some LO mash from last night, so it might be a question of slinging a chicken Kiev in the oven and boiling up some frozen green beans. I know how to live, me.

Money - no feline updates today. They've taken sleeping to unprecedented levels, although Girl Cat did manage to (inadvertently) send an email to the Finance Director today in her only non-indolent moment. Thankfully, he took it well...

    Good evening everyone,
It's like winter here and I'm toying with putting the heating on which I hate to do so early in the year, I'll try another layer but the downside to old sandstone houses is that although mine is well insulated they get pretty a chilly & damp feeling:(.
Just had a lovely visit from my friends and their lovely though a tad sandy labradoodle. They had given her a quick run on the beach but stay long as it was pretty wild.
The dehydrated wraps seem to have worked:D.
Still undecided re stuffed pasta, my planned meatballs or something else. It kind of feels like a something & mash night but I'm not sure what......

ETA - decided I really CBA cooking tonight so it's been a freezer dive and found a "here's one I made earlier- pork cheek chilli" so it's that and few of my dried tortilla wrap to dip and a spoonful of creme fraiche & wee bit grated cheese and sorted, dinner in a bowl as a fancied and virtually no washing up:D

I am starving, then thought I'd not eaten since the burger ... but then I saw here that I had chips/beans earlier .... but I'd forgotten about that :)

I'll get some honey/nut cornflakes, easiest thing this time of night.

I was hungry so have had some toast and chocolate spread with a cup of tea. I'm still hungry although I suspect it's boredom so will go to bed soon.

I've just had something different from scrambled eggs or Greek yoghurt for breakfast. I've had porridge with some berries, and it made a lovely change. I think I've got enough porridge oats to last through the winter.

I'm also craving a toasted sanwich for lunch, so I think that will be cheese.

I'm going to have sausage, mash and steamed veg for dinner with a yorkshire pud for dinner. I've got some yorkshires in the freezer. They were left over from when I did a lamb roast a few days ago and I don't want them hanging about too long taking up room in the freezer. I know the sausages don't take up much room in the freezer but it's still something else out of there.

Thanks sunnygirl, yes I am one of those annoying morning larks, always up early and have most energy early in the day, so I try to stop working by lunchtime, except that is not happening at the moment because the picking and weeding allotment won`t wait. I did think about your suggestions and they are good ones but I made myself stay in bed and I know I kept slipping into sleep, so had the 8 hours. I think it is aches that wake me, make me roll over and change sides

An easier day today as the allotment is ok until tomorrow
spelt flakes with soya milk and cherries
Later bacon (found in freezer shuffle), egg, home grown orange tomatoes, small tin beans and I will have to have shredded red cabbage cos I am not growing to waste it
next meal, salad with walnuts and a scone made with pistacheos and dried raspberries
and that is blooming well it for the day. Am having a double fresh coffee now and had 2 small pieces of 85% dark chocolate. This routine has cured my chocolate addiction, not craving any chocolate all day now and thats good

Bike ride this morning as I need the exercise and fresh air. The small tin of beans, well heck I CBA saving half a big tin and they had lots of strips of 3 small tins in sainsburys, maybe, just maybe they are going to start looking after the needs of the ever growing older single population

Good morning. There was a very loud thunderstorm here last night that started at 11pm and rumbled on until 2am so I had a very late night and have not long been awake.

Starting the day with coffee and a look at the news with Woman's Hour in the background :) Lunch will be some celery and potato soup and half a baguette, tea is chilli and rice. I have some tomatoes in the fridge and some tins of Lidl thick tomatoes so am going to make a tomato soup too. I'm also fancying some hummus so will make some of that for snacks/future lunches. I'm sure I read on here that it can be frozen? If not I'll take some up for my Mum as she loves it.

I have a few householdy cleaning jobs to do today and the reading list for next semester has been released online so I need to look through that and make a start on it to get ahead slightly.
