*sighs* .... rule breakers, no matter how petty they think they are ... are a major nuisance/annoyance in life.
Some smart young Alec was in court just this week - he killed a woman - and managed to believe and say it was all her fault .... he was riding an illegal bicycle, a track bike that has NO front brakes at all (intended for speed/velo racing only where they don't have to stop) ... and he couldn't stop when she stepped off the pavement ... and he killed her.
But it was "her fault" ... he said - and, bizarrely, actually believed!0 -
Money Fight the good fight if you are in the right. Some people are small minded unfortunately and resist suggestions of a better or different way of doing things. Last nights food experiment doesn't sound like one that I will be copying sorry :rotfl:
PN Love the description of numb skulls you make me laugh. I'm reasonably anti social in a pleasant way, enjoy my own company and mostly find a lot of people highly irritating. Probably because every job I've ever had has involved dealing with people, my last job involved people from the job centre being found work that they often didn't want
Morning all. A lazy morning so far here mostly involving drinking coffee and reading a book. Am going to move my ar5e soon and shower etc. Lunch will be beans on toast as I've not had it for ages and really fancy it and tea is a portion of the shepherds pie that my Mum made for me and froze. Peas and gravy will accompany it.
Had a nice tea with my son and his partner last night they cooked chicken and bacon in a spicy tomato sauce and served it up with pasta. Very tasty. I have obviously rubbed off on my son as he made enough for him and his boyfriend to have a portion each for lunch today at work0 -
I went with a simple cheese toastie for lunch
3 minutes... scoff. Job done.0 -
PN - Just read the article you mention.
That poor woman (and her children and her friends etc etc):(. I hope they throw the book at him.0 -

I've become obsessed by noticing "things that people did where it's obvious another choice would've been the sensible choice". Simple carelessness.
e.g. Sunday morning... why did the driver dropping off and waiting for her friend to go into a shop choose to block the rear/shop access lane, when behind her 8' was a legitimate kerbside parking spot - and in front of her by 8' there were 6 legitimate/empty kerbside parking spots ... and, when blocking the access lane her friend had to walk to the shop door, when she actually had a clear run at about 25 yards of available/clear space to park and could've just pulled up right outside the door.
Or right now ... why has the neighbour's window washing man dumped his van to prevent access to 3 parking spots and rear accesses, when he could've parked his van more easily directly in front of his client's car in their numbered spots?
Or the man laying turf next door - why did he lay a length of boarding against the adjacent neighbour's rear gate, when he could've put the boarding the other side of his client's gate against their fence.
Some people just make very strange choices!
It's like the plumber that comes to your house to undo/unblock the ubend, who then grabs (without asking) the valuable Ming Vase you have in the hallway ... then would cluelessly say "I needed something to catch the water...." and you think "so why didn't you ASK ... and, more to the point, you're a plumber, why didn't you walk INTO the house with a bucket?"
Stock Answer: "I thought it'd be all right."
No ... they didn't. They didn't think at all... nothing going on between those ears.... and they can't see it!0 -
I found a currant bun :j
knew there was another upside. One small chest freezer is brimful and all removed from tall freezer, which is now bleating and struggling to get cold enough, I put several freezer coolpaks in because they are good in case of power cuts. Later when it has regained composure then I will freeze bags of water, also a safety device in case of power cuts
Cream crackered as I am also doing washing and sundry other jobs. Will finally sort freezer tonight or tomorrow but am already loving the `me` drawer0 -

Good afternoon everyone,
I'm late on parade today as I was having my central heating serviced. The engineer was very chatty and rather dishy so I was quite happy to hang about for a natter. The sun's shining but it's quite chilly definitely heading to cardi weather, but it will be toasty in the greenhouse where I need to spend some time this afternoon bringing the tomato plants back under control.
I had toast and hard boiled egg for breakfast and lunch will be a repeat of yesterday. There's a portion of gratin left from last night which I think I'll have with some cooked chicken from the freezer for dinner so not much CFO going on to today. I must do something with the brambles I picked on Sunday, probably crumble with some apricots and peaches that are little past their best. There'll be enought fruit for two crumbles anyway so I'll be a good daughter and make one for my Dad as he is very fond of crumble so an easy way to make him smile:D.0 -

Irritation still nipping away a bit - as I'm right about a community issue and I've been able to prove it clearly and quite easily from a bit of googling (as well as my own memories about how things are normally done). But I've got a suspicion t'other person won't accept the proof about what is the normal way of doing things. There have been "words" and there may be more. I prescribe myself another dose of Bach's Rescue Remedy, a couple of drinks of lemon balm tea and some weeding in the garden and positive thinking that the issue has finally been "put to bed" and won't raise its head again.
You could always use your googling skills and try a Vodoo doll
Looking at the food choices made I wish I had made cheese toastie for lunch, but I was nearly there, it was the standard cheese salady sarnie
Just really not sure for dinner, plan started out a baked spud / cheese / salad but just may become nuked curry thingy from the freezer, with chips, as CBA to do rice. Time will tell
Today is make blackberry & apple jam day, I found a bag of jam sugar [BBE 2016] at the back of the cupboard so will use that up at the same time. I must have bought that in 2015 summer I guess. I was into plum jam at that time
Sun's out and those jam blackberries are warming up in the sunshine awaiting picking [I have my frozen ones if extra needed]. No doubt yet more apples on the ground to add to the pile, I like them but cooking them gets a repetitive & boring
PS Caron, my car sometimes beeps at me, no idea whyEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
I've already cooked and eaten my dinner, and I'm hungry still, and I fancy a crumpet but I've run out of them
. I can't decide whether or not to go out to get some or to defrost a slice of apple cake and warm it up to go with custard.
If I go for the cake it means 1 item out of the freezer, if I go and buy crumpets it means there will be 5 to go into the freezer.
I need a third freezer0 -
