Afternoon all. Just back from walking round RHS Wisley, slowly, went out early without breakfast as I had to pick up car from it's MOT repairs, nearly £140, oh well, 40 odd quid is MOT fee so as car repairs go not too bad
Lunch was out in the Wisley [STRIKE]Cafe[/STRIKE] restaurant, just tuna mayo sarnie at nearly 4 quid. Every time we say let's bring our own and have a picnic, but never do, I enjoyed the day though
Dinner, not sure, certainly CBA to do much, there is a crust less quiche / flan / thingy in the freezer and that looks a likely candidate along with the blob of LO instant mash from Saturday and obligatory brown sauce Jus drizzled over
Maybe some more of the stewed apple mountain later, and sorry to hear of your apple probs MoneyTSM
I find stuff vanishes from the shelves just as I get to like it, I assume it is only me buying it twice a year though so no profit there. Or as sounds the case with the carry out curry, so rank no one bought them after the first time
Ouch £4.00 for a sarnie. I struck lucky with reduced at asda yesterday pack of 6 wholemeal rolls for 10p and have made 6 tuna rolls with a can of tuna 75p. In the freezer to take one out when next out for the day.Slimming World at target0 -
I thought I was being quite extravagent at lunchtime with my wrap which came in at around 85p and then I remembered I had made it because I used to like the M&S falfalel wrap and it was £2.50 so I don't feel so bad now;)
Sometimes sandwiches can be really good value in cafes etc. as they tend to be huge so easy to share. My pal and I used to do that order a sandwich and a portion of chips and split them and other times you think you've been absolutely fleeced. Best value takeaway sandwich was from a wee shop across from my work where a sandwich or roll with thick cut ham, homemade coleslaw and salad was £2. They are made order and always really tasty, I used to treat myself to one on a Friday:)0 -
In a CBA mood today, so had spaghetti hoops on toast, with grated cheese on top. Was better than it sounds"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

My wrap meal probably came in at around £2 altogether. I use BFree wraps which are unfortunately expensive at £3.25 for 6 but I enjoy them a lot. So a tuscan bite and hummus wrap with cucumber, carrot, celery and red pepper with some samphire I got reduced the other day. It was filling though. It would cost me a lot more to buy something similar while out I'm sure.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0

My big yorkie, even though I bought the most expensive yorkies in the universe AND didn't buy the cheapest chicken in the world.... cost about £1.70 all in.
I followed it 2 hours later with an 11p choc ice.0 -

Dinner coming up in a minute.
Decided I really must use veggies grown in garden more - so I baked some radicchio with pomegranite molasses drizzled on it (not at all sure what I'm going to think of it:rotfl:), made some aubergine dip (ditto to this particular one), chopped up some tomatoes, got some couscous "cooking".
Time will tell what I think of it.
Hopefully I shall feel more inspired soon - as have been busy compiling a folder of recent recipes I've chopped out of magazines etc. So it's things like smoothie bowls and make-your-own-vegan cheeses for instance.
With the best will in the world - there are always some recipes one doesnt like the look of in any cookbook - no matter how much you basically like the author and hence the chopping out of recipes. Though I've also been re-arranging the cookbooks - to have the "most likelys" most immediately to hand.0 -

I've just decided I won't have a repeat dinner tomorrow... and have put the rest of the chicken in the freezer with the gravy.
No idea what I'll eat tomorrow.... maybe it's time for a spot of beans on toast, with cheese.... for a nice change.0 -
I used the last spelt pizza base yesterday, was lovely, crispy so was like a biscuit. Just tomato paste, home grown little tomatoes, sardines and blobs of mozarella. I have another pack of two bases but they will be good for another month and something to look forward to but one-offs as it was only a trial. Just got to buy some nice mozarella cheese
Up at a stupid early hour today, wasn`t surprised because I was so cosy in a recliner after knitting and listening to long-winded middlemarch, I dozed into a deep sleep. Very refreshed when I woke up but it was an hour and too long. Breakfast was bit of soaked muesli, berries and after was 85% chocolate, only a bit but caffeine has a half life of 5 hours, in 10 hours one quarter is still in the body, so this darkest chocolate would be affecting my nightime sleep if I eat it at lunchtime. Proof is in the pudding because I have been sleeping 8 hours a night lately. Had lots to do, gadding about, last weekend and was still obviously shattered yesterday
I am loving green beans cold, so cook enough for two days and have the cold portion in salad. Thats what I am having today, just got to get out a nice lamb chop and I`ll be baking it on a small rack, with some sweet potato at the same time. Am making an effort to eat more protein every day, three times a day, includes nuts for a snack0
