Farway - your dinner sounds like what my kids call "Fridge Frittata":D, such a good way of using lurking bits up!
    .

Oops, I misread the "lurking bits", it did end in "ing" though :o

Thanks Poppystar, a friend must use something similar with 3, I will check it out

Sunny today, hooray. Boo for MOT fail, brakes broken it seems :(. Could be bread & jam for while, now with courtesy car so I can still get the shopping home easily, which is more good news because the M & S 2 meals for tenner is back and I like the choices offered

No breakfast even though i had time before bus pass valid time of 0930.

Another pack of YS bacon in Asda, habit, but that will be the last for a while

BLT sandwich for lunch, the bacon was not as nice as the YS Lild stuff from last week

Time to pick some of the runners now it is dry & sunny, maybe blackberries as well

Dinner will be big buttery baked spud with grated cheese innards and salad, using my own fresh toms, grown from seed ex lild cherry tomato last year

Sorry to hear about the brakes, I always dreaded MOT time because it usually ended up costing me money :(.

This M&S meal deal does look good. There is a good choice of things that I like but I need to eat up what is in the freezers.

Those tomatoes look really good. I love cherry tomatoes.

SunnyG - Happy new cats your poor old pooch will be feeling a bit outnumbered;):D. You've a big heart taking on older animals as they come with all their little ingrained habits.....

    .

Aw!:rotfl: Probably true re "ingrained habits" though:). Friend of mine took in a middle-aged moggy pretty recently. She wanted one that would be affectionate/a "lap cat".

Too blimmin' true it is:rotfl:. She says the cat sits there staring at her and hubbie until one of them gives in and sits down to provide a "lap" for Moggie to sit on. There is a plus side in friends opinion - apparently Moggie hasnt the faintest idea what gardens are "for" and so wanders out in the garden and than wanders back in again and carefully uses her litter tray after coming back in again - rather than looking for somewhere to "go" in her garden or, worse still, her neighbours gardens.

Tea ended up being chips and mushy peas. I'd opened the peas 2 days ago, so they needed using up .... so the easiest way to do that was chips.

    :)

Nearly out of chips now, I've got "a tiny portion" left in the freezer.

Dinner was as planned, baked spud / cheese & salad. With yesterday's LO jam sponge & custard

Runners picked, loads of them with the recent rain, and a load more apples, plus the blackberries. Cooked the berries but apples left until tomorrow as CBA to prepare & stew them tonight

PN, chips, back to 1kg Lild?

Faraway Those tomatoes look gorgeous I'm another big fan of cherry tommies.

Money One of them is apparently a lap cat but she's still down by the freezer where it is warm and dark! These 2 have never been allowed out so I'll keep them in as it would be unfair. My resident cat goes out but also returns to use the litter :rotfl:

I haven't eaten tea yet as my cheese on toast and soup filled me up plus I fell asleep on the sofa for an hour due to late night chatting to my daughter and an early start I suspect.

I'm really in the mood for chips now - influenced by the thread again ;) - I'm going to make a chip butty for lunch tomorrow I think to feed my craving. Having tea at Mum and Dad's tomorrow so I'll get plenty of veg there and think I can have a treat of chips at lunch :)

Am currently watching a film about a murdering psychotic truck driver. I like a good thriller!

Oh lovely tomatoes Farway wish mine were that far on. Though there are a few here and there nearly ripe. I tend to pick as they turn rather than leaving them all to get there.

The meatball sandwich at lunchtime was lush but talk about messy and having to unhinge your jaw:eek:, in hindsight I'd of been better off slicing the meatballs. At least being CFO there wasn't anyone there to watch me scoff it .....;)

I'm off to add a bag of frozen chips to my shopping............

I had the last choc ice and two pots of honey/nut cornflakes since I had my peas/chips.

    :)

I made the same mistake the other month.... :)

Ha! I clearly was on this wavelength too yesterday, as I had oven chips, a veggie burger and salad for supper. And some of the chips were consumed in the form of a chip buttie (with proper butter, of course).

Tonight sees another veggie burger (only one left in the freezer, and thank heavens for that, sick of the sight of them now...) with new potatoes and some salad.

Contemplating a weekend flit from London down to Somerset to stay with my friend. Of course, that'll put paid to any hope of clearing down the freezer properly, but I think I might need the headspace. Just need to find a kitty-sitter as the usual suspect is away for the weekend too.

And an update (as I started typing this nearly three hours ago)
Girl Cat has been rescued from the water and is suitably humble.
I still haven't eaten (operation towel and restore feline dignity in play)
And I'm definitely off to Glastonbury tomorrow.

    FML.
