Dinner coming up in a minute - its been preceded by a banana with some yogurt and then some cherries. Its going to be various roasted vegetables/using up last bit of canned potatoes ever/tomatoes/some vegan "cheese" sauce left over from a tryout yesterday (which won't be repeated).

Lunch was eaten out - so basically salad/fermented vegetables/couscous with vegetables in/slaw.

Yep...you can detect a theme - vegetables, vegetables and more vegetables...:rotfl:
Could be worse you could be a vegan that doesn't like veggies :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • Could be worse caron - could be my mother preparing said vegetables:eek:

Good cook she isn't:rotfl:. I used to think I hated vegetables as I was brought up. It was only when I started to cook for myself that I began to realise that actually I like most of them - if they are prepared the correct way.

Hob nob for breakfast :o I just knew I shouldn't have bought them

similar here. I knew I should not have been tempted by that meal for £10, included a box of chocolates. I opened the box and kept thinking that I shouldn`t have done it and didn`t want to eat them tomorrow, so yes you guessed right. I ate every flipping last one of them :(

so I tried to make up a bit, had some roll mops and veg/salad then felt that downfall mouth hunger, cherries followed. Was ok for 2 hours and had mouth hunger so made myself a vegetable juice and now feel overfull but definitely no more mouth hunger. I have to get back on the straight and narrow tomorrow. Its not even as though I enjoyed those chocolates

I suspect there are lots of folk scarred for life re how veggies were cooked. My late mother-in-law who was generally a reasonable cook used to put cabbage or sprouts on at the same time as the spuds and cook in loads of water at a high boil. The smell was terrible and it was like wallpaper paste:( my ex hated it cooked so it still looked like the veg it originally was and loved it that way. Me well there wasn't enough gravy in the world.;) My mum once got a bargain box of tinned sprouts they were dire but she had paid for them so we were going to eat them. My brother "accidently" dropped one and our dog which was a complete dustbin licked it and then left it........(more than us kids were allowed to do!)

Think we have all done that at some point- I'm like that with crisps so daren't ever buy a big bag unless it's for folk coming round as I know I can't just have a few:o

Lol. My OH is still surprised how I love basically all vegetables after having some of my mother's over cooked Sunday/Christmas dinner vegetables and seeing the ones he doesn't eat being very soft - example broccoli falling apart when you touch it with a fork gently, forget picking it up with a fork.

    Breakfast - fruit.
Lunch - overnight oats with raspberries.
Dinner - chips, bean burger, pepper, cucumber, avocado and two slices of Bfree bread.
Drinks - coffee, mint tea, green tea, water and a portion of chocolate soya milk.

OH is home and so I stated I felt like chip sandwich for dinner. Had the burger as well as thought why not?

    OH had
Breakfast : banoffee spread on toast.
Lunch : 6 duck spring rolls.
Dinner : chips and venison sausages.
Drinks : coffee, portion of chocolate soya milk.

    Think we eat differently :rotfl:.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
  • Guess we've all got personal weak points where we'll take some food we don't mean to??

The "because it's there" factor seems to be a frequent one on here:rotfl:. Sheer "not buying it" deals with that one for me - if I havent got it in then I cant eat it. I can only deviate from that by grabbing one of those 1 oz portions of cheddar cheese I chopped up and stored in the freezer (having figured that it doesnt take long at all for one of them to defrost:o). But - been good and not had one of them for some days now:)

My weak point is "Darn it - there's been a couple of sodders in quick succession. I deserve 'compensation' for having to sort them out" and I'll head for buying a bit of booze. At least I've trained myself pretty much into buying a bottle of beer - so it's one large glass worth pretty much. That's got to be an improvement on a bottle of wine (6 traditional size wine glasses worth) I guess:rotfl:
  • Apologies for being MIA. Life got in the way.

I've had a sudden realisation that I have two weeks to clear down the freezer (and fridge) before I take the boat up the cut to have some maintenance work done. So I'm into eating the random bits that reside in the cooler(s).

Hence, tonight - and, indeed, last night - was veggie bake thing from Waitrose, new potatoes and salad. Uninspiring in the extreme and I shan't be buying the Waitrose mushroom thingy bake things again.

Neither cat has done a lemming routine since last Thursday, though I now have a kitty life-jacket on standby (borrowed from a marina friend). Attached it to boy cat on Sunday and he growled. Took it off again pretty quickly... Apparently the fact that the lovely lime green really brings out the colour of his eyes has no bearing on him wanting to wear it.

    Ho hum.

Oh dear, you have got the reoccurring problem faced by the CFOs, the trying to eat the contents of the freezer, usually to defrost it. You're going to have some interesing meals over the next few days then :)

It`s going to be a no brainer food day today :)

Already had spelt flakes with soya milk and have some cherries to look forward to later

I have a bowl of green bean ratatouille in the fridge so will add two slices of yummy browned halloumi. Later will be the start of that big pizza and I have lettuce, tomatoes and small courgettes to slice up. Treat will be one hm sugar and egg-free scone, probably after tea. They turned out really well without sugar and egg, I just added chopped nuts and a bit of dried fruit and made with frozen kefir, which I am wanting to use up. I also have some really dark divine chocolate to treat myself with after lunch. So dark, 85%, that I only need a bit to satisfy

Main thing is that I am going to make myself busy with sewing, then reading after an afternoon quickie nap. House is clean so no cleaning needed. It looks like a dark grim day, so I need to stay uplifted with the radio and doing things I like doing, otherwise I will start talking to the walls
