Yes definitely a soup day its blinking freezing. I will have chilli bean and tomato I think. Can of kidney beans in chilli sauce an carton of tomato passata, stick of celery and a small onion. with some grated cheese on top and a nice crusty part baked roll. So quick to make.
Mmm, that is a nice soup as well.:)
I just had two huge bowls of my soup. I didn't even need bread as it was so filling.0 -
Breakfast ended up being one of the big bread rolls I'd frozen, topped with beans (already open) and 2 scrambled eggs. Only 1 egg left .... so that put a stop to any thoughts of a cheese omelette!
So, lunch, instead was a cheapo (99p) 10" basic pizza I'd picked up at 4ldi with 30% off, so 69p. It was cluttering up the freezer, so was easier to eat that than to rearrange the freezer. I added chilli beef to the top, which I made from some frozen beef and chilli powder and added another handful of cheese to the top. Those toppings cost almost as much as the base! Starting with a 69p pizza, I ended up with one costing me £1.30!
Ate it all... I'd cut it into six and after three thought "shall I stop now and put the rest in the fridge for later?" ... but then I thought "Just one more slice" - and then the final two looked so lonely I just ate them.0 -
Just had main meal of day - at lunchtime. Followed a (distinctly vague) recipe for curry I found online. So - it was canned lentils/fresh spinach/frozen peas/canned tomatoes and an assortment of curry spices (spices and curry powder and curry paste - and no measurements given for any of it!) and a few spoons of coconut milk at the end. Eaten with basmati rice.
Was quite tasty. It was supposed to be 2 portions worth - but I've put one portion to one side for tomorrow and one for the freezer.
Various fruit - banana, some grapes, bit of leftover frozen fruit from yesterday (and, for some reason, it does seem to work putting a bit of thicker type mylk on it - ie a bit more of that coconut milk).0 -
I feel like something a bit different for tea so have prepared a drop scone mix. No sugar, 4 oz SR, 1/4 pint milk, I used milk powder and water, 1/2 tsp mustard powder, 1 egg and 20g parmesan. I am expecting mouth satisfaction and will have enough for two days. It just needs a stir before I griddle. I have had enough fruit and veg for today, so that is it except for an instant miso soup
Horribly grey and damp here but am quite enjoying knitting while listening to `12 years a slave`0 -

Nooooooooo £1,200 yikes as you say would take two years, lol might not even be here then.
Right to explain then. Normal bonus is £1 for £20 = £20.
Christmas bonus was £1 for £10 so I put £400 card =£40
the two are added together so £60 bonus.
Aren't you missing the decimal point somewhere? £20 on is £3 bonus, total cash is thus £23. Agreed £400 is £60 bonus however it is worked out
I only bunged £20 on, so £3 bonus. The £23 will take a while to spend. Luckily it can be spent in dribs & drabs unlike the Asda type where you get vouchers. I've splashed out a quid on 6 pack of "free" mince pies, only £22 left to go, but I do like their Cheddar so that will use some up next year
Yesterday's mince & ready mix dumplings reminded me that I normally add mixed herbs to the dumplings, boo, forgot. RM dumplings were OK, but as I only seem to have dumplings once year, if then, my dumpling craving has now been sated
Dull and damp today, just the day to cheer the [STRIKE]W/rose reduced pie offer[/STRIKE] superb planning and forethought that means I have a small chicken pie in the fridge:j
Lunch was back to basics cheese salad sarnie
The PC went into "please do not turn off updating" mode, which took forever, and gave me time to make a pan of stewed scrumped apples, go nicely with Greek yoghurt & honey later
Dinner is the hopefully yummy chicken pie, with nuked LO mash plus LO half tin of beansEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
cheesy drop scones are delicious and recommended. Made 15, enough for three/four meals, something to look forward to at the weekend when I take a packed salad lunch on my crafting day. The first three stuck and the pan got messy, luckily I had another pancake pan, both very cheap, free in a pack from costco. Cast iron and very heavy. I will just save the best pan and clean the other then give away to cs. Cleaning now involves just wiping with a drop of lard, it melts in. Then I will put in a drawer. One to remember and surprisingly filling0

A cold wet afternoon here, so comfort food is needed. So I'm having a chicken ham and leek pie with mash and peas.
Lunch was an omelette to use up some more of the eggs.
Breakfast was a greek yoghurt with honey.0 -
Good evening,
I slept late this morning and my balance was decidedly awol when I did get up so a quick cuppa & a banana was grabbed before I headed back to bed again where I promptly fell asleep again until just after 1pm. Had a bowl of soup for lunch and then it was horizontal again. Consequently it's been a bit of a wasted day but I'm much steadier on my pins now thankfully (and showered and dressed). There is a portion of soup left so that will do my lunch tomorrow. I've rice mix left from last night and a couple of frozen cooked bangers so that will be the basis of dinner with some veg and frozen toms to make a quick sauce:).
