  • On use-up-what-I-no-longer-buy front - and I've hauled some quorn "chicken" out of the freezer and some of my homegrown tomatoes and am wondering whether I could make up some sort of dinner for myself using that and the leftover canned coconut cream I have in fridge. Thinks? - maybe some sort of Thai type curry....

I am just making my organic order for next week and add and take away as needed, up to monday. I need to make another snack meal ie grapefruit, few grapes and a kiwi. This time I will chop and mix and have as plain fruit salad, maybe in an hour

I am very glad I am pro-active wrt my house systems, I have hot water and a warm house, using manual activations when I got up. Our plumber is always late in replying but we, also my neighbour, are patiently waiting as he is so trustworthy. When homes get cold then it takes a long time to warm the house fabric

Grim foggy damp day so I need to get myself involved in some activity that is engrossing, home based. . Maybe a good time to put summer clothing to one side or out for the cs, to see exactly what I have for winter. My problem is always trousers and skirts. No turning the weather back, so that is what I will do. I am just going to bake the drumsticks, roast the sweet potato and cook all the greens chopped in one pan. I love plain food these days, always tummy happy

Seems a few of us are suffering technical issues I haven`t had anything actually breakdown but did have 2 quite long power cuts this week. The first one took me completely by surprise, suddenly plunged into darkness
and trying to remember where the hell I put my torch and candles. All I had to hand was a cigarette lighter burned my thumb rummaging under sink cupboard to locate candles. Lesson learned candles now set ready and torch handy

On the floor, in the corner, by the fuse box I've got a £1 push to turn on LED light - and a small wind up torch.... and I've got a few solar lights that I keep charged up just by leaving them on windowsills, "just in case".

I can't/won't have a candle lit in my house ever. Petrified of flames/fire.

Breakfast: Yesterday when I defrosted a muffin the pack had two, so breakfast will be a toasted muffin.... I've about 1/3rd of a can of beans ... and so I might as well poach an egg on top of that.

Lunch: No idea. It needs to be something from the freezer. Maybe a portion of that brisket (froze 4 portions), whip up a Yorkie with the milk that has tomorrow's date .... I've got 2.5Kg of spuds that need using up and a bag of carrots....so I think that looks like "the route that uses up the most fresh and frozen produce that needs to be consumed".

    Good morning,
Another one using "stuff" up today:). Bread from the freezer toasted with the end of a tub of cheese spread and an apple for breakfast. I've also a muffin defrosting for lunch which I'm planning to have with egg scrambled with mushrooms and tomatoes. Tonight I'm going to use up some curry LOs from the freezer that were frozen after my son & his g/f were up a few weeks ago. I actually really fancy a Tandoori Mixed grill from the local Indian restaurant but they are huge so there would be lots of LOs needing frozen. I've promised myself I can have one, once I use up the various curries already in there. As well as the frozen takeaway LOs I have portions of various homemade ones lurking so I really don't want to add to the existing curry mountain!;)
  • lots of maybes from people today. half a coffee left before I get back to sorting. CBA snack of pecans and some sour cherries, I feel tummy happy now. Its the damp weather, fog, not nice. I`ll keep on until lunch and that will be all the `work` for today. At least I will know where my winter clothes are, including my winter hm short ponchos, warming neck and shoulder stuff
  • All I have had so far is a huge cup of coffee with almond milk and my CBD oil.:D

I'm having bran cereal again for breakfast and have some brown bananas to use up to make a smoothie.

Leftover HM vegetable soup for lunch with an A*da garlic bread to dip in. A handful of cashew nuts too. My husband can have half the garlic bread with a pizza as he is going out later.

    Not sure about dinner yet.

  • drat, the unmarked freezer pack struck, stewed apple instead of soup. I quickly put it back, only very slightly defrosted. Have had to do a rare nuke to get defrosted soup. Will fully heat up shortly, meanwhile need to prep my (later) lunch and 5 baked apples as in conveyor belt after chicken. Timetable is fully undone, however I have sorted all my winter clothes and made spaces

Afternoon all, seems lots of tech issues on here today, hope they all get sorted cheaply. I'm keeping fingers crossed now the CH is sorted. I have torches & candles around, I keep a torch on a table near my chair, plus one on bedside table, with a wind up one just in case. Candles in kitchen drawer

Went greedy yesterday evening after my dinner and scoffed a bowl of bran things, it was that or open a newly found tin of rice :o

I had a flu jab last Friday, not sure if it is linked but now have sore throat and itchy eyes. I have never had any reaction to flu jabs before. I was told this morning there is "something" going round, maybe that's what it is?

Boring top up stuff from Lild, milk and the like, but did buy the "baby" potatoes on offer, useful for salads, or sometimes big round chip type spuds

Lunch was some Heck sausages in the finger rolls, made a nice change

Dinner is very likely savoury mince, I have everything ready, only needs cooking. Not sure what to have with it, maybe top with LO mash, or maybe CBA and just bung in bowl and eat as is, especially as rain is due

teatime will be whatever, def berries and yoghurt first though. I had enough veg already so sd toast and jam or peanut butter, or one of each, will be good

I have two ombar choc bars left in my chocolate box. Ate and enjoyed one, knowing it was doing me good. If I don`t sleep tonight then I will re-think my one strong morning coffee. I can`t do without the chocolate so might have to chose

force feeding PN, lol, sounds like something out a film

what was wrong with your ch, farway?
