I'm not sure what I've got for dinner tonight. The package I grabbed from the freezer today is either the base for a cottage or shepherd's pie, so I've done some mash to top it, and all will be revealed later when I eat it :). Whatever it is I'll have it with some steamed veg.

I had a Greek yoghurt with some berries this morning for breakfast, and then a cheese salad sandwich at lunchtime.

I''ve made a Christmas cake for my brother this morning, and I think I have eaten too much of the mixture and feel a bit full now :).

Thank you Farway, for the cheese sauce recipe, and PN for the original.

Sunday I was at a spa and had a lovely lunch of salmon and prawn with a little basket of fries and a dish of salad, with some tomatoey dressing on. It was a really unusual salad it had peas on top and some white round things in !!!!
Tea was a tapas of sea bass on stir fry veg and sweet potato bravas with grilled hallumi on it. Delish. .
Monday I had dgson so we had chicken balti curry, pilau rice and poppadoms.

Yesterday was fish fingers on pitta with cheese, rocket, garlic mayo and ketchup, for tea after a full day at work.
I had Spanish frittata for lunch and have got out chicken bravas for tea, need to decide what potatoes to put with it;)

    Farway, that looks yummy.
Can you post recipe please ? It looks similar to one my mum used to make, and I keep trying to replicate!

I covet your YS find! £1.69 these days full price! Outrageous :)
They used to be £1.39 (and still I waited for a YS moment, which I only managed to find once).

It was the thought of something like this that made me have beans/toast for breakfast - I got out two eggs to scramble, then thought of a frittata/omelette/whatever instead (as I have peppers and onions and spuds and eggs and cheese) ... so I had to put the eggs back in the box as I only had 3.

But, later, I scrambled two anyway and had the hash browns and beans ... so now I've only got one egg, which I decided wasn't enough to make a frittata/similar ... but I also couldn't think of which dish would be "the best size/shape dish to make this".... as ever.

Hugs to all who are having problems with family and health.

PN I don't like an over eggy frittata so only use 1 or 2 eggs, and lots of filling.

I was inspired by the nuking that you do, so I chopped a potato and nuked for a min or 2. Then coated with oil and smoked paprika and chilli, then roasted with a couple of roast pots from Saturday! !
With the chicken bravas and garlic mayo plus a bit of grated cheese it was lovely.
Enough chicken to save a bit for tomorrow.

    Good evening everyone,
Some lovely looking and sounding baking being done I see, I've given up making a Christmas cake as it always seemed to still being used up come January and as I love them that was not a good thing given all the other goodies scoffed over the festive period:o;).
I'm late on parade today as I was seeing the balance specialist today. It went ok and thankfully my back has eased off a bit (though still twingey:() but to cut a long story short I'm now at the point where they have done all they can for me and this is as good as it will get (which isn't great) and my next big challenge is accepting this. I've now been referred back to the local consultant for ongoing care but at least should things go seriously pear-shaped I can be fast-tracked back to the specialist. This was the news I was expecting but had still hoped there was a "magic wand" solution out there:cool:.

Breakfast didn't happen as I didn't want it to return during the tests so for lunch I treated my son and myself to smoked salmon sarnies and blinking good they were too, before he headed back to Newcastle. Good lad that he is, he drove up after his work last night, took me to Paisley and home again earlier and then headed back. A lot of driving but I really appreciated it:D.

I've no idea about tonight and I've nothing organised, I had planned creamy mushroom pasta but managed to spill the dregs of a pot of cream I was going use all over the fridge shelf (as they say a little goes a long way:mad: :rotfl:) and I had cream cheese at lunch time so don't want it again. I'll see what inspires me in a bit but school night or not I'm just about to pour a glass of wine and chill out this evening.

EDIT; and Caron - sorry to hear that news....I think you're allowed more than one glass of wine in the circumstances. In your position right now - I'd probably have several glasses, followed by throwing the empty bottle (hard!) at something and then start googling for alternative health ideas on this when I "came round" the following morning. Guessing you might have already researched the complementary medicine route??

Though I guess trying to clear up a pile of broken glass may not be the best idea when one has a bad back episode.......back to the drawing board as to what to throw then....I've been known to throw every item of footwear I possess (rather a lot) at a wall before now in those sort of circumstances...and the shoes can be picked up later (when your back feels better).
